Roger Warren
Home: Fairhope, Ala. Age: 58 Occupation: Retired truck driver Road to the Finals: Finished second and won $2,500 in the Lone Star Park Handicapping Championship on June 12-13. Bio: Qualified for his second National Handicapping Championship with a second-place finish ($2,500) in the Lone Star Park Handicapping Championship. Finished 159th at NHC IV in Jan. 2003 after qualifying with a win in the Sam Houston DRF/NTRA Handicapping Tournament on Oct. 5, 2002. Earned $3,000 for the victory at Sam Houston, which was his biggest win to date. Warren was introduced to racing by his father, who took him to Bowie racetrack in the early 1960s. Spent 13 years in the United States Army including two years in Japan and two and a half years in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces. In 1974 he hit a homerun off the famous King and his Court four-man softball team while playing for the Army softball team in Alaska. He now enjoys handicapping with his son and son-in-law, and playing poker.
