Bio: This well-known public handicapper has been playing in handicapping tournaments since the old World Series of Handicapping at Penn National, where his top placing was a third-place finish with a prize of $14,000. First went to the races when his father took him to the track in Cleveland when the Cleveland Indians game he was supposed to attend was rained out. In addition to the New York Daily News, Harris has also been a handicapper for newspapers in Philadelphia and Chicago, where he was once a steward. He has since introduced his own sons to the sport. One son is the handicapping writer for Philadelphia Inquirer. Another son, Michael, also qualified for NHC VI with a second-place finish at Delaware Park's December contest. In addition to horse racing, Russıs other interests include American and European history.
