Age: 61 Occupation: Retired director MFG/material control for General Dynamics/Hughes Road to the Finals: Won Fairplex's Road to the Handicapper of the Year qualifying tournament at Fairplex on Sept. 11-12. Bio: Has been interested in horse racing ever since his brother-in-law taught him how to read the Daily Racing Form in the late 50s and early 60s. His biggest scores to date include hitting a $19,000 pick 6 on an $8 ticket, and a $24,000 payday for finishing second in the Coast Casinos tournament at the Sun Coast in Jan. 2001. Don likes to play golf and tennis, and really enjoys spending time with his wife at their condo by Del Mar.
