Home: Ellicott City, Md. Age: 60 Occupation: Registered nurse. Road to the Finals: Finished second in the Maryland Jockey Club's handicapping tournament at Laurel on April 6. Bio: Qualified for the National Handicapping Championship for the second straight year. Finished 203rd at NHC IV in Jan. 2003 after qualifying at Laurel. Was introduced to horse racing by her husband prior to their marriage, and has been handicapping since 1963 when she visited Fort Erie from her home in Buffalo. Joanne's husband also qualified for the NHC this year at Delaware Park.
