Home: Grand Prairie, Tex. Age: 36 Occupation: Professional Horseplayer. Road to the Finals: Finished third in the handicapping contest at Lone Star Park on June 14-15. Bio: Three-time National Handicapping Championship qualifier finished 35th in the inaugural NHC after qualifying at Louisiana Downs, and then finished 185th in NHC IV as a representative of Retama. His father was a mutual clerk in Northern California and he has been handicapping since he was 16. He won the money he needed for a down payment on his house at the track just after he got married. His most memorable handicapping story was having the only winning pick 6 ticket ($11,000) at the Quarter Horse meet at Bay Meadows just a month after hitting another pick 6 for $5,400. His hobbies include his family, and horses. He also enjoys traveling and hopes to visit every racetrack and football and baseball stadium.
