Home: S. Salem, NY Age: 55 Occupation: Director of Payroll. Road to the Finals: Won the TVG National Handicapping Challenge on July 19. Bio: Qualified for the NHC for the second straight year in an Autotote On The Wire contest. Finished in 98th-place in NHC IV and earned $2,000 in prize money while playing for the second-place Autotote On The Wire team. Also attended the 2001 National Handicapping Championship with his brother Paul, who finished 191st playing for Team Mohegan Sun. Tournament veteran estimates he has played in about 100 contests the last 20 years with five major victories, two dozen Top 10 finishes, and $200,000 in winnings. Bested 492 participants to win the World Cup of Thoroughbred Handicapping and $60,000 at the MGM in Reno on the weekend of the first Breeders' Cup in 1984. When growing up, his family's summer home was built next to Pocono Downs. Has been handicapping horses for over 40 years.
