Age: 51 Occupation: Rare coins dealer Road to the Finals: Finished second in the Pimlico Players' Choice Handicapping Tournament on April 27, turning his original $200 into a real-money bankroll of $1,944. Bio: The former winner of the World Series of Handicapping at Penn National will be making his third DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship appearance all playing for the Maryland Jockey Club. The first day leader in the 2001 NHC, he finished third ($225.40) to Judy Wagner and led his MJC team to victory and the $20,000 first prize. Finished 111th ($91.00) in the 2000 NHC. In addition to winning at Penn National, some of his other memorable handicapping moments included hitting (with 31 others) the twin trifecta at Laurel when the carryover was $1.8 million and another twin tri for $25,000 with his wife on their 25th wedding anniversary. Special interests include playing golf and coaching his high school golf team.
