OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Solid efforts by in two stakes caught the attention of sheets maven Jerry Brown, who advised Ro Parra to purchase her. Sunday, Brown's assessment gets its initial test when Zippy Missy makes her first start for Parra's Millennium Farms in the $75,000 East View Stakes at Aqueduct.

A New York-bred, Zippy Missy is one of 10 juvenile fillies who will have to prove themselves in a two-turn race at 1 1/16 miles. Zippy Missy, who is now trained by Steve Asmussen, will also have to overcome post 9.

Zippy Missy, who had been trained by Dominic Galluscio, won her maiden going five furlongs at Saratoga in her second career start. After finishing third in the Joseph A. Gimma at seven furlongs, Zippy Missy rallied to be second by three-quarters of a length to Cinderella's Dream in the one-mile Maid of the Mist Stakes at Belmont.

"I just thought her last race was her best race, and it was the furthest she'd run," Asmussen said. "She was bought by Jerry Brown for Ro Parra. We were simply the lucky recipient."

Zippy Missy is one of three daughters of City Zip in this field. The other two are She's Got Zip and Motor City Mama, both of whom enter this race on two-race winning streaks. She's Got Zip, trained by Kathleen Demasi, won an entry-level allowance race at a mile two weeks ago over the main track.

"The City Zips have been mostly sprinters," said Greg Demasi, assistant trainer to his wife. "She's got some distance on her dam's side. She wasn't rushed in her last race, and she was allowed to settle. If you ask her to punch too soon you might be in trouble."

Linda Rice sends out Motor City Mama, whose two wins have come at six furlongs. Rice said Motor City Mama suffered from a chronic

respiratory infection during the summer, but has really come to hand since it cleared up. In

addition to trying to stretch out from six furlongs to 1 1/16 miles, however, Motor City Mama must deal with the outside post.

Gary Contessa, who won last year's East View with Successfully Sweet, sends out the uncoupled trio of Primary Motive, Bee in a Bonnet, and Truely Alone. Of the three, Primary Motive, a daughter of Prime Timber, may be best suited to two turns. She drew post 2 and gets the services of Norberto Arroyo Jr.

Pretty Sarah, Home and Away, Sarahisittrue, and Willi's Sweet Girl complete the field.
