Ziegler rides three winners in row

Jockey Mike Ziegler had a consecutive riding triple last Sunday at Arapahoe Park, becoming the first rider of the meet to accomplish the feat. He started the streak in the fifth race aboard Princess Hailey ($10); followed by a convincing score on Sunny Serenade ($10.40), and capped it off with a 14-length romp in the Arabian Cobra Derby on Caitlyns Hot ($3.80).

* Trainer Jon Arnett and jockey Travis Wales, who each hold large leads in their respective divisions, teamed up to post a double on Sunday. They won the second race with Blue Caracal ($3.40) and the ninth race with Norwegian Star ($3.60).

* The state of Colorado enacted the Gambling Payment Intercept Program on July 1. The rules govern the collection of unpaid child support on cash winnings from gaming and parimutuel wagering. Arapahoe Park will be required to use a web-based registry to verify whether winning bettors who are required to file W-2G's, are listed in the registry as delinquent. If the bettor is listed in the registry, Arapahoe Park will be required to intercept these funds.

* Trainer Glen Atkison will saddle the top two qualifiers Saturday in the finals of the Rocky Mountain Futurity. The top qualifier was Mighty Shazoom (17:849 seconds) in the third trial. Corona and Cuervo earned the second best time (17:857) in the fourth and final trial two weeks ago.
