Zia Park: Clever Cash in local debut

Clever Cash makes her local debut Saturday in the $50,000 Permian Basin at Zia Park, a six-furlong race for 2-year-old fillies.

Clever Cash won her only start, cruising to an eight-length win in a maiden claiming race at Calder Race Course on Sept. 16. She earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 71, the highest of any starter in the Permian Basin.

Clever Cash, who makes her first start for owner Joe Davis and trainer Chris Hartman, has put in two works at Zia.

Yaddo Cat has the best credentials in the field, with stakes placings in two stakes starts. She last raced at Remington Park and finished third in the $40,000 E.L. Gaylord Memoria. Before that, she was second in the $75,000 Silver Spur at Lone Star Park. Trainer Steve Asmussen has given the mount to Casey Lambert.
