Zenyatta's moment voted best


The victory by Zenyatta in the Breeders' Cup Ladies' Classic, capping the filly's 7-for-7 2008 campaign, has been voted the year's National Thoroughbred Racing Association's Moment of the Year on a poll conducted on the association's website.

Zenyatta's seasonal finale received 24 percent of the votes cast. Second in the balloting was was Big Brown's Kentucky Derby victory, which received 18 percent.

Third in the vote with 15 percent was the injury to and euthanizing of Eight Belles following her second-place finish in the Kentucky Derby. In fourth place, with 11 percent, was the Jockey Club Gold Cup victory by Curlin that made him the first North America-based horse to have earned $10 million.
