Zee Oh Six wires Governor's Cup

Zee Oh Six remained unbeaten on dirt during the Remington Park meet on Saturday night, when he led throughout for a two-length win over Outlaw Cowboy in the $41,300 Governor's Cup. It was another length back in third to Notable Okie.

Zee Oh Six ($4.60) broke on top and set fractions of 23.41 seconds for the opening quarter, 46.84 for the half-mile and 1:14.08 for six furlongs. He repulsed a bid from Outlaw Cowboy, and went on to cover the mile and 70-yard distance in 1:41.64.

"He was out there on the lead by himself, which is always good," said Cliff Berry, who rode Zee Oh Six. "He dug in when they came up to him in the stretch."

Zee Oh Six has won all four of his dirt starts this meet. He captured the $40,000 Silver Goblin in August, an allowance and the $75,000 Oklahoma Classics Day Classic in September, before taking the Governor's Cup. In his only other start at the track this year, he was off the board in a turf stakes. In all, Zee Oh Six has won 10 of 37 starts and $338,025.

The win in the Governor's Cup was one of four on the card for Berry.
