Email

AUBURN, Wash. - Youcan'ttakeme made her case for horse of the meeting honors at Emerald Downs Saturday, leading throughout 1 1/8 miles in 1:48.40 to score by 3 1/4 lengths over 39-1 shot Calldara in the $100,000 Washington Breeders' Cup Oaks.

It was the fourth straight stakes score from as many starts at the meeting for Youcan'ttakeme, a homebred daughter of He's Tops who races for owner Herman Sarkowsky and is trained by Grant Forster.

Under jockey Gary Baze, Youcan'ttakeme dueled through an opening quarter mile in :22.60 before opening a three length lead with a half-mile in 45 seconds flat, and she was never threatened thereafter. Youcan'ttakeme paid $2.80 to win as the heavy choice in a field of nine 3-year-old fillies.
