Yonkers: Tuesday 8/11 Analysis

MEET STATS: 221 - 709 / $1245.50 BEST BETS: 30 - 56 / $103.60

Best Bet: BLACKTREE (12th)

Spot Play: TRADING PLACES (8th)

Race 1

(5) LIBERADO HANOVER is one of a host of shippers for this impossible to figure event. Brennan picks up the drive and he may get aggressive early. (3) MULLET BLUE CHIP comes out of the same race from Mohawk as the top choice and does have a post edge. (2) OLD MAN CLEARY showed a touch of promise as a freshman then missed an extended period of time but he did qualify sharply out of town.

Race 2

(5) FOREVER AS ships in from the midwest for the Lorentzon barn, picks up Brennan and that's been a good angle in the past. (3) LINDY ON THE ROCKS kicked home nicely last week to score and gets another crack at this same level; logical. (2) DIVISIONIST ships in for Charlie Norris sporting a solid resume with stakes experience; colt may simply be faster than these.

Race 3

(5) SPORTS BETTOR came from well back and reeled in the speedy well-regarded leader last out to post the upset; why can't the Burke trainee repeat? (3) INTHENAMEOFJAMES was a very sharp front-end winner in his debut for the Brittany Robertson barn. (2) YIPPITY HANOVER looks for three straight against non-NYSS competition for Toscano.

Race 4

(1) WILDINTENTION AS is another Lorentzon shipper making his local debut and I'll try this angle for the second time on the afternoon. Drawing best certainly doesn't hurt. (5) PIERCEWAVE HANOVER debuts for the Allard barn off a sale purchase and he sports a nice win two back at Philly. (8) DEMONS N DIAMONDS has won three straight moving up the class ladder at Pocono and she returns locally with the speed to overcome the post. Interesting to see Simon Allard catch-driving against his brother here.

Race 5

(2) MCCITO had no chance upon arrival in his debut for Godinez. From this spot he may have more to offer. (3) PENNYFORURTHOUGHTS debuts for Garcia-Herrera and should be live from this spot. (1) ARROW was a huge upset winner three back versus similar and hasn't raced badly since.

Race 6

(4) WATKINS hasn't been firing with his best recently but maybe the switch to Carlson and the added distance can help his cause. (7) LORENZO DREAM drops in class like the top choice and he can have the early lead in two steps. (3) WESTERN CREDIT is a proven entity at this level and at this distance.

Race 7

(5) SOUL TRAIN arrives from Northfield as a private purchase for the Godinez connections and this trotter is capable of a serious burst of speed; worth a play from this midpack post in this wide-open event. (1) STITCH IN TIME drops a notch and is a threat if he doesn't get buried from this spot. (8) BLACKWOLF RUN is another Ohio shipper who's made a nice living versus high-conditioned types there; he could offer a closing kick at a square price.

Race 8

(5) TRADING PLACES always offers a big closing kick and the mare only needs a smooth outer flow to roll by late. (6) LUKAS HALL has been facing better recently with little success but maybe the switch to Bartlett will wake him up. (3) ELLEN'S STREAK ships from Monticello and has a nice win record this season.

Race 9

(2) MAGIC WILL WORK was here earlier this year facing much better and she returns today looking for a wakeup call; Dube's choice. (7) HE'S LUCKY was a solid winner upon arrival for the Todd barn and he can certainly take another here. (4) PRINCE LAUXMONT showed some improvement last out and can build off that effort.

Race 10

(5) ELIN is too classy a trotter to still be shut out on the season; mare will work out a winning trip eventually. (4) BOUNCING BAX gave way badly last out at this added-distance and she's been disappointing recently. (1) CANTAB ABS returns at a reduced level for Allard.

Race 11

(2) I C CAVIAR went a big effort last out when Carlson hopped in the bike; why not back him again? (1) CUDDLE PUNK ships from Delaware, where the filly made some nice $$$ in their statebred races; clearly she can handle the half just fine. (7) HYWAY MARCUS picks up a catch-driver and is worth a look.

Race 12

(1) BLACKTREE faces softer today and from the best post; looks like the Garcia-Herrera trainee should handle his business in the finale. (3) HANDS OFF FRANK has good speed and will be close up throughout. (2) PV COMING HOME ships in for Burke with good-looking lines in Pennsylvania and Brennan drives; tough to ignore.
