Best Bet: TOBER (4th) Spot Play: BINGO QUEEN (3rd) MEET STATS: 188 - 592 / $1,058.10 BEST BETS: 28 - 48 / $96.90 Race 1 (7) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN tightened up nicely out of town in his first two seasonal starts and he returns to Yonkers not facing the strongest of Open fields. (5) BUEN CAMINO was a bit short last week after tipping from the pocket but I suspect he'll be better here. (8) SEASONED SAINT moved to the Banca barn, missed a couple of weeks but took all the money and was a sharp winner; respect him despite the outside post. Race 2 (3) MADHATTER BLUECHIP has had two tough-luck beats in his last two but he's nice and sharp and I don't think the added distance will present a problem. (7) FASHION CREDITOR returns locally after holding his own versus good ones out of town. (6) ANDY M was in a bit over his head in his last few local tries; class relief and switch to Bartlett can help. Race 3 (3) BINGO QUEEN takes a needed drop in class and is proven at this level and at this distance. (6) MY LUCKY WORD has been sharp out of town and gets an interesting driver change to Zeron at an enticing 20/1 on the morning line. (1) DEWYCOLORINTHELINE is arguably the classiest in here but he's missed some time and has failed to pick up a check in three 2018 starts. Race 4 (2) TOBER still hasn't awakened from his season-long slumber but he's much better than these and I can't go past him from this spot. (6) HERE'S THE MAGIC gave way on the front end last out but prior efforts were sharp. (4) NEWCASTLE fits nicely here but he needs to show some more late stamina. Race 5 (3) CAROLINA BEACH has been razor-sharp in two starts since shipping in for Beckwith and he deserves top billing from this spot. (1) SGT PAPA DADDY was a well-rated winner last week and he lands the rail with Bartlett driving again. (4) PEPPER GUY steps up a notch looking for two straight. Race 6 (1) SUMMER SIDE has been dead-game in his last few and I suspect Schnittker will be sending this one down the pike and playing 'catch me if you can'. (2) POINTSOMEWHERELSE was a bit improved last out; can she get away in the pocket from this spot? (3) TREASURE MACH has been good, but will probably have to elevate his game a couple of notches to beat these. Race 7 (5) SHOWMEYOURGUNS is another Milici-trained trotter who has found his stride recently and deserves a long look. (3) SPRINGBANK SAM N hasn't won in forever but the Tritton trainee has been stubborn in defeat recently and he does have plenty of back class. (2) DEKEYSER has been right there in his last three. Race 8 (3) GIVENUPDREAMING has been very good since moving to the Lance Hudson barn and last week's effort was particularly sharp. (1) THISJETSABOOKIN has clearly tailed off of late but he does have good speed and the best draw. (5) BEAT THE DRUM was suspiciously not the favorite last out and raced accordingly...interesting. Race 9 (3) BADIX HANOVER lands in a pretty good spot today and should be aggressively handled. (2) FAMEOUS WESTERN was a winner four back at this level. (5) DON'TCALLMEFRANCIS showed some signs of life last week. Race 10 (6) MACINTOSH N takes a needed drop in class and looks to have a big chance with an alert getaway. (4) MAJOR BUCKS showed some life last week versus cheaper at Pocono and he may be able to build off that effort. (3) AIR STRIKE blew away cheaper at Philly; sharp sort looks like a player.
