Best Bet: LMC MASS GEM (9th) Spot Play: JACKS TO OPEN (6th) MEET STATS: 7 - 24 / $32.20 BEST BETS: 2 - 2 / $6.80 Race 1 In a pretty suspect field of NW8 trotters, I'll look for a price in (3) MIGHTY SURF. Mare had a decent 2017 season versus NY breds and does have a decent move in her if she minds her manners. (4) NEW HEAVEN raced well in his first four local starts for Burke before coming up flat last out; probably the one to beat. (2) DRESSED TO IMPRESS does have a win five back with Gingras in the bike. Race 2 (3) MONEY MAVEN went a big trip in defeat last week and deserves top billing off that effort. (1) CASH ME OUT came up on the short end of a pace battle last out but with the best draw he can work out a live trip. (9) TIGHT LINES was very good at the end of last year for Jeff Gregory. Race 3 (3) PANAMANIAN HANOVER had no chance last week but it was a useful effort and the DiDomenico trainee can show more today with a live trip at the added distance.  (10) THERAPUTIC has hit the board in his two starts since moving to the Bamond barn. (7) LILY'S SWAN POND has to overcome the poor post but he has to be considered for sharp connections. Race 4 (10) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN got jammed in the pocket with nowhere to go last week versus better; this is a tricky spot but he should offer some value. (3) PRIME POWER N is feeling good again and can certainly repeat. (2) KINETIC KING was a game second last week for the Harmon barn. Race 5 (5) GRUDEN made up plenty of ground after breaking before the start last week; if he trots, he wins. (4) LE TISSIER has some ability and gets a big driver upgrade. (9) PITTSTOP KIP raced pretty well to be second best last out. Race 6 (5) JACKS TO OPEN takes a meaningful drop in class today for Surick and figures to be more involved. (4) RUN AND TELL PAP seems to lack late stamina but he should be close to the pace throughout and can land a share. (3) STONEBRIDGE IDOL had no chance last week from the eight hole; post relief obviously helps his chances. Race 7 (4) EXPLOSIVE VICTORY was the pick last week but didn't fire; I'll give the mare another try in a race where it's hard to make a case for anybody. (3) MASTER OF EXCUSES hasn't fired his best in some time however this is a good spot and he deserves consideration. (5) TIME TO QUIT had a decent 2017 season banking over $40K. Race 8 (4) YOOOUKILIS was a solid uncovered winner in his 2018 debut and paid a nice price as well; gets the call to repeat facing similar. (3) GONNA FLY has closed well in his last two, now moves in a few spots and is a must-use. (1) NEYMAR may try carrying his speed a long way from the rail spot. Race 9 (2) LMC MASS GEM added hobbles and scored at first asking to Allard and he's clearly capable of repeating. (5) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME just missed in a big try last week at the added distance. (1) CRITICAL MASS should be sitting close up and can land a share. Race 10 (6) PINGALING has minded his manners in his last two and that was a sharp closing effort last week; DiDomenico trainee may need to get involved earlier for his best chance. (4) MUZZY'S MUSCLES looks like a legitimate speed threat here. (3) JANDERSON has hit the board in four starts since moving to the Burke barn but he was shut out of the win column last year. Race 11 (7) AUTEUR HANOVER had the benefit of a trip over the track last week and didn't race badly; he should be a decent price here in a hard-to-figure finale. (4) SHORT TERM MEMORY arrived from Canada, joined the Burke barn and was completely empty trying to rally from the back in an added-distance event; he has his nose on the gate today and will likely be firing to the front.
