Best Bet: MELADY’S MONET (9th) Spot Play: SOUTHWIND CRUZE (4th) MEET STATS: 462 - 1319 / $2,496.40 BEST BETS: 62 - 112 / $205.20   Race 1 (2) BUEN CAMINO wasn't that bad last week in a needed start and he should be a juicy price even with the nice inside draw. (3) HOME'N DRY is in career form banking almost $100K over the past two months; big threat. (5) CHARMED LIFE was a powerful uncovered winner last out and the classy mare will be off the pace again. Race 2 (4) TACO TUESDAY has been behaving himself of late and he's capable of stepping up with a big effort at any given time. (1) CRAZSHANA may have tailed off in his last few but he does get some class relief and draws well in this added-distance event. (6) DOG GONE LUCKY raced okay for a board spot in his local return. Race 3 (7) LUCK O THE IRISH may need some luck reaching from this tough post but the Harmon trainee has proven he fits nicely with this type, and there are certainly no standouts in here. (9) KANTHAKA came up rather flat last week in a disappointing effort but the DiDomenico trainee is clearly capable of better. (2) TROTALOT has been racing well against lesser up at Saratoga and the veteran likes to win. Race 4 (5) SOUTHWIND CRUZE has been a solid runner-up in his two starts since switching to the Allard barn and the 3-year-old could be ready for a breakthrough effort as the second or third wagering choice. (3) KING ON THE HILL invades for Takter off a strong win at Philly and he's got stakes experience. (6) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME is another one who's been finishing on the fringes versus some low end stakes foes and he deserves respect moving into the DiDomenico barn. Race 5 (4) CRITICAL MASS seems to outrace his odds every week and he could be a halfway decent price yet again. (2) CR BLAZIN BEAUTY was Bartlett's choice and the filly sure likes to win; threat to go all the way. (1) VOLARE added the hobbles last week at Pocono for Allard and responded nicely with a sharp win. Race 6 (7) BINGO QUEEN showed unknown speed last week and also finished up well to be second best; I'll give her a stab to reach from off the pace today at a price in this very inconsistent field. (5) AUSPICIOUS HANOVER returns locally at a reduced level and picks up Bartlett. (3) PERFECT ROAD has been a model of consistency up at Monticello but he faces tougher here; consider underneath. Race 7 (5) TORNADO TIM rallied well from too far back last week but from this spot the Allard trainee will be within reach. (3) EXPRESSIVE ACTION gets a fresh set of hands today; will that be enough to awaken him from his season-long slumber? (1) ROSSINI certainly fits with these class-wise. Race 8 (1) MASTER OF EXCUSES broke in his first start off the Brittany Robertson claim but he drops in class and Bartlett sticks. (2) CRAZYCAT is a bit erratic but he's had his moments. (10) NOBLE POWER returns locally off two easy wins versus lesser at Monticello. Race 9 (2) MELADY'S MONET drew outside in his first start off the bench, was overbet but still got the job done sweeping from third over; he faces similar today and should repeat. (3) MONEY MAVEN may be heading to the front, cutting the mile or sitting a trip. (6) GEORGIE'S POCKETS drops down to a more reasonable level but is outside what he has to beat; use underneath. Race 10 (4) BRUNELLO N jogged against similar two back; short price looming with Bartlett at the controls. (2) SURE FIRED BET drops to the basement and gets post relief. (5) SCARLET CHASER is still shut out on the season but he can go with this type. Race 11 (3) MUSCLES ON FIRE took control last week in an added-distance event and won easily; sharp sort can repeat. (8) NEW HEAVEN was a sharp winner in his local debut for Burke and he needs to be followed, despite facing tougher from an outside post. (1) NEW JERSEY VIKING was a Breeders Crown finalist for Svanstedt; other than that it's been a disappointing season. [DRF HARNESS NEWSLETTER: Sign Up for the FREE DRF Harness Newsletter.
