Defending series champion Mackenzie A made her presence felt in the 2018 edition of the Blue Chip Matchmaker for pacing mares by winning the fastest of the five $40,000 splits of the second round that were held on Friday night. Driven by Jordan Stratton in the night's fifth and final division, Mackenzie A got away at the back from the outside post seven, but ended up second-over heading to the 55 4/5 half that was put on the board by round one winner Lady Shadow (Jason Bartlett).  Mackenzie A had to come three-wide to get around a retreating Lispatty (George Brennan), who had been providing her cover, before the 1:24 1/5 three-quarters, but Mackenzie A kept advancing around the rim on the final bend, then blew by Lady Shadow in the lane on her way to a 1 1/2 length score in 1:53 1/5.  Lakeisha Hall (Yannick Gingras) was the runner-up and Dudesalady (Brent Holland) rallied for third. Mackenzie A is a 6-year-old mare by Rock N Roll Heaven and is trained by Peter Tritton for owners Vonknoblauch Stable LLC. and Ellen Kinser. Mackenzie A, who was sent off at 7-1 and returned $16.20 to win, scored her 15th lifetime win, and she has now banked $427,763. After winning from first-over last week, Shartin N changed tactics to a front-end style this Friday, but it ended up with the same result as she dominated the second flight in 1:53 2/5.  With Tim Tetrick calling the shots, Shartin N was up to get the lead passing the 27 1/5 opening quarter, and after a 57 1/5 half and a 1:25 3/5 three-quarters, Shartin N kicked home in 27 4/5 to down Clear Idea (Mark MacDonald) by a length and three-quarters.  Vintage Babe (Holland) collected third. A 5-year-old daughter of Tintin In America, Shartin N is trained by Jim King Jr. for owners Richard Poilucci and Jo Ann Looney-King.  Shartin N is now six-for-seven in the win column in her initial North American campaign and has 13 career victories.  She has earned $86,375 this year and $162,492 lifetime.  The 1-9 favorite, she paid $2.30 to win. Back in the opening section, Wishy Washy Girl (Bartlett), who didn't race in the Matchmaker last week, won in 1:54 2/5.  Taking full advantage of the rail draw, Wishy Washy Girl made front, posted panels of 27 1/5, 57 1/5, and 1:25 3/5, then kept favored Twinkle (Eric Goodell), who got boxed in the two-hole until late, at bay to win by a neck.  Scandalicious (Tetrick) took third after a first-over journey. The victorious 5-year-old Roll With Joe mare is trained by Richie Banca for owners Michael Cimaglio, Stephen Demeter, and Glenn Goller.  Wishy Washy Girl is now a 12-time winner from 45 career trips behind the gate, and she has put away $373,762.  She was dispatched as the 7-5 second choice and returned $4.80 to win. L A Delight (Gingras) was scheduled to race in the Matchmaker last week but missed the race after a sick scratch.  She showed no ill effects in this Friday's third Matchmaker test, though, going on a front-end mission to a 1:53 2/5 tally. She cleared pole-sitter Mach It A Par (Bartlett) at the 27 3/5 first quarter, and after middle-half fractions of 56 3/5 and 1:25 1/5, a 28 1/5 final kicker got L A Delight home a length and a quarter to the good.  Mach It A Par wound up second, followed by Wrangler Magic (Daniel Dube). Trained by Nancy Johansson for owner Diamond Creek Racing, L A Delight is a 5-year-old daughter of Bettor's Delight.  This was the 24th career triumph for L A Delight, who has now banked $1,345,074.  She was sent off as the 9-5 choice and paid $5.70 to win. Rounding out the winners for the evening was 36-1 Motu Moonbeam N (Holland), who stunned her rivals in the fourth division.  Starting from the outside post, she was last through opening-half panels of 27 2/5 and 57 1/5, then wound up third-over to the 1:25 three-quarters.  After inheriting a second-over position following the break of first-over Jag Out (Gingras) past three-quarters, Motu Moonbeam came three-wide on the far turn, then surged through the lane to win by a length and a quarter in 1:54 3/5. Safe From Terror (Stratton) overcame a break before three-quarters to rally for second and Gina Grace N (Larry Stalbaum) snagged third. Paul Blumenfeld trains Motu Moonbeam N, a 6-year-old Bettor's Delight mare, for owner Friendship Stables LLC.  Motu Moonbeam N, who was second in her Matchmaker dash last Friday, won for the 19th time in her life, and she has now earned $306,016.  She returned $74.50 for the surprise score.
