Yonkers: Saturday 9/22 Analysis

MEET STATS: 258 - 786 / $1349.30

Best Bet: HESTON BLUE CHIP (9th)    Spot Play: VLOS (12th)

Race 1

(3) SHOW ME UP raced well two back, then had no chance last week from post eight; he could be close enough tonight at a price. (5) FOUR STARZ TRACE would appear pretty logical considering the drop in class. (7) DALLENBACH HANOVER is always capable of a big speed effort.

Race 2

(1) FASHION BLIZZARD has proven handy on all size tracks, and although he was collared at the wire last week by (2) TIRADE HANOVER, with the rail draw he should control the action and rebound. (5) ROYALTY FOR LIFE was a blowout winner in last; threat if flat.

Race 3

(2) YOU WANT ME trotted in 1:55 2/5 up at Tioga, a pretty gaudy figure for a freshman filly trotter; Paul Kelley trainee deserves top billing off that effort. (5) CRAZY GRIGIO was a solid second to the top choice last week and has looked good with the hobbles added. (1) LADY RIVIERA is a steady commodity and she draws best.

Race 4

(1) SUMMERTIME LEA is one lone defeat shy of a perfect career record (naturally the one time I bet her); from the inside post and with Morrill driving she's clearly the one to beat. (2) BRUSSELS HANOVER seems to lack the winning touch but she can be considered from this spot. (3) HIT THE CURB was very stubborn in defeat last out.

Race 5

(2) HANDSOFFMYCOOKIE has been one of the feature fillies on the NY circuit this season off her stellar freshman campaign; DiDomenico trainee faces some stiff competition tonight in what should be a great race. (1) MAJOR LOOK gets very lucky with the post draw and she's been rock-solid all year. (6) ROMANTIC MOMENT will have to overcome the outside post, which she's obviously capable of doing, but can she clear the lead?

Race 6

(2) BET THE MOON was a well-driven upset winner two back; Bartlett should employ similar tactics tonight with the favorable post draw. (1) DOCTOR BUTCH is the headliner of a three-headed entry from Linda Toscano, who is having a career year. (4) FRAMED ART has shown flashes of serious ability.

Race 7

(4) WIN MISSY B garnered national attention with some gutsy efforts, most notably in the Hambo Oaks and the Zweig; Sears should head to the front here and take care of business. (1) COWGIRL HALL almost reeled in the top choice last out; big threat here. (6) FORTUNISTA has done little wrong this year; tough spot here with the outside post.

Race 8

(2) BROOKROAD KNIGHT was too far back to threaten last week; prior two races were sharp speed efforts; with the good draw, Gregory may be able to stalk and strike late. (8) ARCHANGEL is best and obviously the one to beat here, but how much will the eight hole take out of him? (6) CORRAGGIOSO has banked over 300K this year; colt should land a large share here.

Race 9

(5) HESTON BLUE CHIP is another great one from the Toscano barn. Three-year-old has held his own with the sport's best this year and he should be able to devour these NY breds. (3) BREAKIN THE LAW has ten wins already this season for Burke and he should be close to the action from this spot. (1) STEELHEAD HANOVER gets Sears in the bike and his effort in the Cane was respectable.

Race 10

(6) SAPPHIRE CITY had no chance last week, yet still came home in 27 seconds and just missed; top billing here. (5) ONE MORE LAUGH has the reputation, and recently he's shown the game to back it up. (3) GREAT VINTAGE jogged versus lesser.

Race 11

(2) FOUR TRUMPS A has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now; eventually he's going to reward me. (3) BETTORS CURSE lacked a serious late kick last out, other than that he's been rock-solid. (6) FOX VALLEY TRIBAL was reclaimed by Lappe, obvious speed threat here.

Race 12

(4) VLOS was decent in defeat last week; Bartlett can head down the road tonight. (1) MEANT TO BE ME gets needed post relief. (2) MYSTERIOUS MOMENT also moves in a few spots and Lachance can be involved late.

Race 13

(2) WAYNE THE LEFTY has been racing well for weeks now without a victory to show for it; perhaps with the good post he can finally get over the hump. (1) CODE WORD went wire-to-wire versus comparable stock three back. (7) ROCK TO GLORY lands outside again but has beaten better than these in the past.
