Yonkers: Saturday 8/3 Analysis

MEET STATS: 226 - 633 / $1250.60    BEST BETS: 33 - 51 / $112.80

Spot Play: SAPPHIRE CITY (6th)

Race 1

(2) KINGS LEGEND flattened out late after a rugged uncovered try last week; he gets post relief tonight and is in line for a smoother trip. (1) FLIPPER J makes lots of sense from this spot. (8) ERIDANUS N blew the doors off cheaper and he could rally for a share despite the tough post and rise in class.

Race 2

(4) CLASSIC ROCK NROLL closed a ton last week and finally gets post relief; it should be all systems go tonight from this spot. (1) ROADWAY gets class and draws best; big threat. (3) JERRYS BROWN GOLD failed versus cheaper at odds-on in his most recent; he can hit the ticket, but he's tough to endorse for the top spot.

Race 3

(5) TALKTOMECOURAGE N changes hands and exits claimers; worth a shot in this nondescript field. (3) RASCAN MATT gave way after flashing speed upon arrival; he had missed time prior to that event and he could be tighter tonight. (1) ON THE BRINK draws best, returns to Brennan and can be considered.

Race 4

(4) POLARIS N is up in class again but he's been racing really well recently and he deserves some respect from this spot. (2) ELECTRIC OUI has done nothing in his last few spots but when he's on his game he's best here. (5) TAYLORLANE CRUISER never wins but he can rally for a share.

Race 5

(3) TOBAGO CAYS moves back inside and he's clearly capable of blasting down the road. (1) STATESMAN N paced a good back half in his local return and he draws best inside; likely the one to beat. (5) PANCETTA has serious ability and the four-year-old should only get better.

Race 6

(2) SAPPHIRE CITY made an uncharacteristic break last week while leaving hard into the favorites. Tonight he gets a generous post assignment and he's clearly capable of rebounding. (5) CLEAR VISION returns off a good effort out at Northfield and Brennan's got tactical options from this spot. (3) FAT MANS ALLEY has proven he belongs with this type.

Race 7

(3) LIGHTNING RAIDER N isn't a prolific winner but neither is anyone else in here; Team Vallee charge does get a touch of class relief tonight. (4) HERE WE GO AGAIN has had no excuse in his last couple but at least he has good gate speed. (1) I LIKE DREAMIN draws best and should be in line for a ground-saving trip.

Race 8

(2) FOOLS GOLD threw in a clunker last out but had been racing well in prior efforts; worth a look from this inside post. (4) SEA VENTURE was game for second in last after grinding on the rim. (3) MEL MARA tired with little excuse last week but the four-year-old still has some upside here.

Race 9

(1) RAFFERTY HANOVER takes an ambitious class hike tonight but he's been awesome in his last two. (3) FLEM N EM N is also up in class off a solid score; threat from this good post. (4) MONTREAL PHIL should be more involved tonight for Lachance.

Race 10

(7) AUSSIE REACTOR A closed with plenty last week and was Holland's choice here; I'm obviously hoping for some sort of live flow here. (5) SAULSBROOK FAME has hit the board in two of his last three at this level; Brennan drives. (8) NOB HILL HIGH is probably best but he's severely handicapped by the outside draw. I have a sneaky feeling this race will collapse late and the closers will dominate.

Race 11

(1) BJ'S GUY was much-improved in his last local start and it looked like he had no chance last week at Saratoga; Godinez charge should be in a perfect spot tonight. (4) SAINT WILLIAM A is tabbed as the morning-line choice here but he's been unreliable in recent efforts. (2) SAND SAVAGE hails from the Simpson barn, which has been hot recently.

Race 12

(5) HEMER'S CARD SHARK had no realistic chance to close into that rated pace in last week's finale; I'm inclined to give him another chance versus these less reliable foes. (3) WHITE MOUNTAIN TOP picks up Bartlett and they may be forwardly placed. (6) LIFE UP FRONT has been rather flat recently but he does pick up Brennan.

Race 13

(4) MODERN DAY CLYDE drops in his third start back from vacation and his last two efforts were decent; ready to pop. (1) SAMANDAR also drops; draws best. (5) STONEBRIDGE TONIC just missed versus lesser; he's got some back class.
