Yonkers: Saturday 8/11 Analysis

MEET STATS: 209 - 629 / $1037.50

Best Bet: REAL FLIGHT (8th)     Spot Play: HURRIKANE SCOTTY J (3rd)

Race 1

(2) MILITARY STRATCOM finished well from impossible spots in his last two; former $10K claimer gets the post relief he needs to take this. It's safe to say that (1) RAFFERTY HANOVER is feeling pretty good in his new barn. He goes for four in a row tonight. (6) DVCFLYINGFRENCHMAN was ignored at the windows last week and went wire-to-wire; speed threat again.

Race 2

(2) HIGH OCTANE N flattened after an uncovered trip last week; Lachance drives tonight and I'm giving him another chance. (1) MOST HAPPY DRAGON drops, moves inside and is a big threat. (3) MOODYS BOY JOEL was very game in defeat upon arrival.

Race 3

(3) HURRIKANE SCOTTY J was dead game in beating lesser at Harrah's Philly and with Brennan driving tonight, he deserves top billing. (1) MIAS BOLD MANEUVER has been flat in all recent efforts but he does drop and land inside tonight. (4) MACRAIDER N hasn't been all that good lately; that seems to be the M.O. of all of these Lightning Lane-owned veterans.

Race 4

(7) SAND BENELLI surprised me with his gate speed last week; he faces a pretty weak field here and he may be forwardly placed again. (3) SAN ANTONY O returns locally and picks up Brennan. (6) DIABLO SEELSTER may be best of the rest.

Race 5

(3) BLUERIDGE WESTERN was an upset winner three back with Stratton in the bike; classy millionaire can get the job done again with any sort of trip. I mentioned last week that Jason Bartlett chose (2) VIPER HANOVER over a Burke trainee. A couple of loyal readers were nice enough to point out to me that Bartlett's wife is a co-owner. Oops! With that said, this four-year-old rallied with a ton of pace up the rail last week and he should be in a prime spot tonight. (6) GREYSTONE CASH has shown some renewed energy in his last two.

Race 6

(1) NOB HILL HIGH chased with pace from the pocket to be second best last week. He should be in a similar spot tonight after the generous inside assignment. (4) SAPPHIRE CITY had no chance last out; gelding is sharp and should appreciate the move inside. (3) VERSADO is another that will benefit from the post relief.

Race 7

(3) MCCLELLAND is riding high off his last couple of wins and he can easily take another with Brennan at the controls. (2) WAYNE THE LEFTY was a solid second the last time he saw an inside post. (5) ELECTRIC OUI is a speed threat despite last week's disappointing effort.

Race 8

(1) REAL FLIGHT was going nowhere last week out of the eight hole; it's a whole new ballgame tonight from the rail. (2) JACKED UP has been razor-sharp over his last five starts. (6) LISTOWEL is capable of closing for a share.

Race 9

(2) BET THE TOWN drops, draws inside and can easily take this field wire-to-wire. (5) BETTOR DESIGN was facing better when last seen here. (7) CASH CAB also gets some class relief off a game placing.

Race 10

(4) DIGITAL Z TAM rolled wide off dull cover and closed steadily last week; Lachance has a barn full of “Z Tam” horses that are all capable of striking at any time. (2) SAILING CRUISE has back class, lands back inside and is capable on his best day. (3) LOLAS CRUISER figures for a share from this spot.

Race 11

(3) WESTERN DAKOTA didn't have the easiest of trips last week and he can be excused for that effort; I'm inclined to give him another try tonight. (4) BETTORS CURSE kicked home sharply off cover to upset last out; he may be good enough now to handle the rise in class. (2) MYSTERIOUS MOMENT kept up nicely from the pocket in last and he has proven he can compete with these.

Race 12

(2) VALENTINO has been keeping company with much better recently and he gets a weak call here in the finale. (1) AUSSIE REACTOR A is a nice-looking import for Cassar; do we need to see one first? (4) SILENT SWING returns locally and the millionaire is capable of competing with these.
