Yonkers: Saturday 7/7 Analysis

MEET STATS: 173 - 507 / $822.20

Best Bet: GOOGOO GAAGAA (6th)    Spot Play: ARDUOUS (3rd)

Race 1

(3) SPARKY plunges in class after a weak performance where he broke; one can assume all is ok physically with him and he will bounce back here. (7) DAN CHAZ is back up in class off a confidence-restoring victory. (4) REAL MYSTICAL broke late after a rugged try last out; new barn tonight.

Race 2

(7) K C COLT never got involved last week; he drops back to the level of the claim and he can be given another look at a decent price. (2) GODDESSS JUSTIN finished well after breaking early last week; new barn tonight and Manzi returns. (3) TYS A BIG STAR drops looking to regain his form; Callahan drives.

Race 3

(5) ARDUOUS finds a pretty soft field here and Goodell could take advantage. (1) BRICKYARD BREWER draws best, and that makes the Ray Baynes homebred a threat. (6) SHORTSTACKED drops to a more competitive level.

Race 4

(5) VALENTINO won a leg of the Levy a couple of months ago; any sort of effort to match that and he will jog here. (3) HERE WE GO AGAIN won't fool me anymore...I will never select him on top again. With that said, the Burke trainee drops and should land a share. (4) P H JACKPOT should be live at this level.

Race 5

(5) RIVER SHARK was really in an impossible spot when last seen here. Tonight he can be within striking distance. (4) VERSADO returns to his preferred venue. (8) REAL NICE got roughed up last week at odds-on; you'll get a much better price if you fancy his chances tonight.

Race 6

What is there to say about (1) GOOGOO GAAGAA? Cams Rocket-sired trotter looks as smooth as a pacer and he'll pay $2.10 when he wins the 2012 Yonkers Trot. Almost comically, there's no exacta wagering on this race, but just for kicks I'll pick (2) STORMIN NORMAND second, who should follow the champ around the track, just like in the Beal Final at Pocono.

Race 7

(4) REAL FLIGHT saved ground and rallied mildly at Philly last out; prior local efforts were solid. (7) PANSAI YAMAMOTO had solid speed at both ends of his mile last week; can he fire out from this spot? (3) LISTOWEL is in career form.

Race 8

(7) ROCKEM gets some class relief and he appears to be good enough to overcome the post assignment. (1) WAYNE THE LEFTY has been pretty solid all year and he'll be a big threat with an alert getaway. (4) FOX VALLEY TRIBAL can show more speed in his second start for Croghan.

Race 9

(7) GREYSTONE CASH didn't fire last week on the dropdown; he gets more class relief and could get more involved tonight. (1) WOODSTOCK HANOVER and (6) BLUERIDGE WESTERN are both classy rivals who make their local returns.

Race 10

(1) SPY N looked pretty sound and closed nicely in his debut for Casie Coleman; veteran can build off that effort. (2) DVCFLYINGFRENCHMAN has regained his form of a year ago; speed threat here. (5) MR SALMING debuts for Burke looking for three in a row.

Race 11

(2) POWER OF A MOMENT was a winner three back from this post and this level. (4) WINTER RETREAT A gets needed post relief. (6) FORIEGN OFFICER looked a bit better last week.

Race 12

(1) BJS BEQUIA went too fast on the engine last week and fizzled out badly; maybe he's better suited for a stalking trip, which he could receive tonight. (2) SAINT WILLIAM N is unproven at this level, but he should be close up throughout. (7) FLIPPER J has big-time ability; must overcome the post.

Race 13

(1) EAGLE ALL has a very solid local resume and the gelding returns into a live spot. (2) LOLAS CRUISER has raced decently in his two starts for Laterza. (6) GRAB YOUR KEYS could be a closing threat.
