MEET STATS: 217 - 607 / $1191.90    BEST BETS: 31 - 49 / $104.50

Best Bet: CHINA GRILL (10th)

Spot Play: RAFFERTY HANOVER (2nd)

Race 1

(4) RECENT NEWS returns locally off a sparkling score at Saratoga and he's worth a try here in this evenly matched field. (6) KING'S LEGEND was very game in defeat last out. (8) CLASSIC ROCK NROLL is saddled with another poor post but he's better than he's been showing.

Race 2

(3) RAFFERTY HANOVER is up in class again tonight but that was a really solid effort last week. (1) WAYNE THE LEFTY gets needed post relief and he'll be more involved from this spot. (2) SHOW ME UP was an interesting claim last out; let's see if he improves for his new connections.

Race 3

(1) MONEY TWITCH A has been relatively successful since joining the Allard barn and he would appear pretty logical from this spot. (6) DALLENBACH HANOVER has an amazing in-the-money record this year. (3) MACHAL JACKSON really had no excuse last week; tough to endorse for the top spot off that effort.

Race 4

(1) CONNERY BLUE CHIP didn't have a chance to do much in his last few races; five back from an inside post at this level he was a winner. (7) FLEM N EM N finished with pace from an impossible spot last week; will the outside post be his downfall again? (3) VERY UPSET RICHIE has been formful recently.

Race 5

(4) FLIPPER J has some back class and draws reasonably well in a soft NW12000 event. I would expect Bartlett to be aggressive off the gate. (5) P H JACKPOT has looked poor recently out of town, but the veteran has had plenty of success here in the past and a turnaround is possible. (3) ART TWO D TWO is up in class again but has been racing well.

50 cent Pick Five Play:  4,5 / 1,2,4 / 4,6 / 1,3 / 2,4,5 = $36

Budget play:  4/ 1,2,4 / 4,6 / 1,3 / 2 = $6

Race 6

(1) GREAT VINTAGE has been a model of consistency all season and recently stamped himself as a solid Open contender. Last week he looked home free but faltered late and was collared. I won't hold that against him and would consider him a must-use from his rail draw. (4) SAPPHIRE CITY had the post eight blues last week, finished with pace but had no chance. Track-record holder figures to be more involved tonight. (2) HESTON BLUE CHIP disposed of an Open field up at Tioga last week in a fast 1:49 4/5. Three-year-old pacing champion should only get better off that effort as he transitions to the aged pacing ranks.

Race 7 - Yonkers Trot Final

(6) CREAMPUFF MACDADDY was much the best in his elimination. Jason Bartlett steered the trotter with plenty of confidence, which leads me to believe that he has enough talent to overcome the poor starting slot. (4) DONTYOUFORGETIT prevailed gamely in his Yonkers Trot elimination once inheriting the lead. Trainer Jimmy Takter enlists Brian Sears tonight and the consensus is that the three-year-old should be even better tonight. (1) FICO practically had the race handed to him last week but couldn't get by. Tough to endorse for the top spot, however he should get a perfect trip from the rail.

Race 8

(1) OUTRAGEOUS ART was forced to rough it in his last two efforts and he paid the price late. Ron Burke trainee draws the rail tonight and it should be smooth sailing. (3) DOMETHATAGAIN was flying home last week but ran out of real estate. Four-year-old has done little wrong this season and he looms a solid threat from this improved post. (5) DREAM OUT LOUD N was no match for Village Beat last out; no disgrace in that.

Race 9

(2) PONTIAC LUCK is another in a seemingly endless line of hard-knocking Ron Burke veterans. This one was dead-game for second last out and has been no worse than second in six-of-seven races. Only knock here is the missed time. (4) MEL MARA seems to be getting his act together after a stellar three-year-old campaign. Tony Alagna trainee can come from on or off the pace. (5) K SLATER is arguably in career form; he bumps up again but may be capable with a live trip.

Race 10

(1) CHINA GRILL was absolutely airborne last week; any sort of live trip and the Lachance trainee should jog. (4) HERE WE GO AGAIN has banked almost 100K while only winning once on the season; Bartlett figures to be forwardly placed again. (3) RUSSLEY RASCAL N needed last week's debut effort; expect better tonight.

Race 11

(2) IDEAL IKE gets some post relief which may get him over the top. (5) JACKED UP moves in a couple of spots off those two wasted eight hole efforts; expect better. (4) OUR CULLENSCROWN N looks like a good fit here.

Race 12

(6) STATESMAN N was the favorite in the Open when last seen here; on paper he looks better than these. (1) DINNER GUEST has speed, the rail and Sears driving. (4) SOUTHERN ALLIE is steady stock for Burke and he figures top three here.

Race 13

(5) HEMER'S CARD SHARK has been very sharp for Adamczyk; this is a class test tonight but he may currently be good enough. (3) ATOCHIA isn't what he used to be but he should still be competitive with this type. (1) BEAVERCREEK ARTIST returns off a sharp score at Philly.
