Yonkers: Saturday 7/21 Analysis

MEET STATS: 184 - 555 / $871.20

Best Bet: RIVER SHARK (13th)     Spot Play: BIG BAY POINT (9th)

Race 1

(5) VESUVIO GRANDE rallied well from too far back for a board spot in his debut for the Buter barn; veteran can build off that effort. (2) LILSHARKSHOOTER went down the road in his debut for Cad Gregory, who has resurfaced from nowhere and has his barn performing at a remarkably high level. (3) LAMBRETTA has been a steady commodity of late.

Race 2

(4) CIGAR HALL returns off a confidence-building win at Saratoga and he's proven to be competitive with this type. (5) MOST HAPPY DRAGON rallied nicely last week for Burke. (3) ALIVEANDWELL N returns and was a winner at this level in February (though he was dq'ed).

Race 3

(3) MACRAIDER N moves to the sharp Buter barn and he should go down the road here. (1) HERE WE GO AGAIN will likely sit the trip, loom like a winner but hang when it counts. (2) EXPENSIVE TOY should be close up throughout.

Race 4

(5) MILITARY STRATCOM is back at a winning level and he has a post edge on his main rival. (7) GODDESSS JUSTIN bumps up off a win for Casie Coleman and he can provide some value here. (6) DVCFLYINGFRENCHMAN gave way in the late stages last week but his prior start was solid; speedy threat here.

Race 5

(5) VERSADO could not reach last week; perhaps he can head to the front tonight. (2) ROCKEM held gamely after an uncovered try in last; he can threaten with a slightly smoother trip. (8) SAPPHIRE CITY has been absolutely super recently and he's made me a believer.

Race 6

(8) DOCTOR BUTCH took his elimination easily and I'm sticking with him, even from post eight. (4) SCALPED was also a game winner in his Sheppard test and he hails from connections that knows a few things about young colts. (2) ROCNROLWILNEVERDIE looms the morning-line favorite; despite flattening to third in his elim; Brennan sticks.

Race 7

(4) WESTERN DAKOTA returns to Brennan in the sulky tonight and I wouldn't be shocked to see him leaving the gate. (1) URGENT ACTION would appear pretty logical from this spot. (2) GO GO SOLANO needed last week's start and he should be better tonight.

Race 8

(4) LISTOWEL went from a nondescript Tuesday night NW horse to a solid candidate in this Winners Over event; it's amazing how quickly a horse can get good. (2) ELECTRIC OUI has speed and an inside draw. (1) SEA VENTURE has a ton of ability, but he's very erratic.

Race 9

(7) BIG BAY POINT is another Lightning Lane speedster who moves to the Buter barn; he can head to the front and forget to stop. (6) HICKORY HORACE picks up Brennan for his local return. (2) LAHAYE returns from Saratoga and he can sit close up.

Race 10

(2) DALLENBACH HANOVER has tailed off in his last two but maybe the return to the Yonkers and the addition of Brennan can heal him up. (3) TIDEWATER TEDDY has some class to him and his last effort was decent. (1) GRAB YOUR KEYS is back up in class off a win.

Race 11

(5) SAINT WILLIAM A takes a needed drop in class and that should be able to get him over the top. (4) JK CAMELOT faces tougher off his blowout win. (6) CANACO RUN gets Goodell in the bike tonight; worth a look.

Race 12

(1) REPORT FOR DUTY N should be able to control things to his liking from this spot. (4) PEMBROKE NICK had no chance in his return to the Ford barn; worth a look with the post relief. (5) WESTERN CHURCHILL rode the cones and burst late for the score; he'll likely have to work harder tonight.

Race 13

(4) RIVER SHARK gets serious class relief and has no real excuse to fail. (1) JACKED UP faces better but he's been sharp. (5) HIGH OCTANE N could save ground and rally for a share.
