Yonkers: Saturday 7/20 Analysis

MEET STATS: 204 - 581 / $1124.30    BEST BETS: 30 - 47 / $102.30

Best Bet: DANCIN YANKEE (2nd)

Spot Play: BETTORS REWARD (10th)

Race 1

(1) LUCKY MAN returns from vacation off an effective qualifier and the Alagna trainee draws best; down the road. (3) RAFFERTY HANOVER was a solid winner last week versus a weak field and he's got back class. (6) SECOND WIND N should be forwardly placed tonight.

Race 2

(1) DANCIN YANKEE gets needed class and post relief; Green trainee looks imposing from this spot. (5) CAM B ZIPPER blasted down the road to beat lesser in his local return and he should be firing from the gate again in this `added distance' event. (3) WHOGOESFIRST has had success here in the past.

Race 3

(3) VILLAGE BEAT has absolutely jogged in three straight and he may be sharp enough to compete with these. (6) GREAT VINTAGE has been a model of consistency all year and he can blast from any post. (2) FAT MANS ALLEY ends up back inside where he should have more success. This appears to be a great betting race.

Race 4 - Yonkers Trot Elimination

(1) CREAMPUFF MACDADDY exits a very gutsy try up at Mohawk; colt is far and away the highest money-earner in this field and he looks to be rounding into form at the right time. (3) DEWEYCOLORINTHELINE raced well in the Dancer and he looks pretty solid here for Schnittker. (5) BROADWAY PRINCE raced well at Pocono for Daley and he looks like he can easily be top four here to advance.

Race 5 - Sheppard Final

(4) THEREISAPACEFORUS had a useful pari-mutuel debut last week, finishing a safe second in his elimination. Takter trainee can build off that effort. (3) FORTY FIVE RED was collared on the wire last week by a rival that lands all the way outside tonight (Stevensville); hard to discount any Burke trainee. (5) WESTERN CONQUEST jogged in his elimination but he's got some speed types inside of him.

Race 6 - Yonkers Trot Elimination

(6) DONTYOUFORGETIT is clearly the most accomplished here and he exits a solid effort in the Beal at Pocono; trainer Takter takes the lines tonight. (4) DETOUR HANOVER was an 800K yearling purchase and the brother to Donato Hanover is finally starting to show some potential; can he handle the half-mile? (3) BOFFIN has been a steady performer in Pennsylvania.

Race 7

(6) DOMETHATAGAIN got hung to dry in last week's Open and he still managed to pace in 1:51 1/5; any sort of effort like that will take this. (3) EIGHTEEN was a very gutsy winner at this level two back. (5) VERDAD was a solid uncovered winner last out.

Race 8

(5) K SLATER bumps up in class off two second-place finishes but the Fanning trainee has been sharp and he can take this with a live trip. (4) MACHAL JACKSON gets post relief and he figures to be forwardly placed here. (3) MOJO TERROR exits a good effort at Philly and he looks well-spotted here, but to be honest I've never been a fan of this gelding.

Race 9

(2) SAFE HARBOR exits two consecutive decent efforts and he should be in a perfect spot tonight. (5) SOUTHERN ALLIE closed crisply last week versus one notch lesser; he can be considered here, maybe at a nice price. (1) URGENT ACTION ships back and draws best, but he picks up a driver who is unproven here.

Race 10

(4) BETTORS REWARD was my choice last week at a price and he got hung the mile; tonight he gets post relief and faces no standouts. (6) RU READY TO ROCK should be able to leave the gate tonight which makes him a prime contender. (7) ELECTRIC SHOOTER could be a closing threat.

Race 11

(6) CHINA GRILL finished very willingly first-time Pat Lachance. This gelding seems to be following the same pattern as stablemate Montreal Phil, who's been very successful. (2) I'M THE PIED PIPER double-jumps in class but has been sharp for Burke. (5) MODERN DAY CLYDE raced well in his first start back from vacation.

Race 12

(3) REAL FLIGHT is not a prolfiic winner but he draws a good post and seems to stand out here. (1) ART FOR ARTS SAKE is clearly feeling good again; draws best. (2) FORIEGN OFFICER beat lesser last week and he has back class.

Race 13

(8) CODE WORD blasted down the road last week and had plenty left; obviously he faces a tougher task tonight but he might be good enough value here to take a shot. (1) MAY DAY has good speed and draws best; big threat. (5) HOLDINGALLTHECARDS was a game winner when last seen here.
