Yonkers: Saturday 7/18 Analysis

MEET STATS: 204 - 637 / $1141.10 BEST BETS: 28 - 51 / $97.30

Best Bet: LUMINOSITY (4th)

Spot Play: O’SUNDLAND (9th)

Race 1

(2) STATION THREEOHSIX lands back inside and was a winner when last at this level; veteran is worth a long look in a race with suspect favorites. (4) SAND BENELLI rarely wins but he's been a solid check-earner recently. (1) VILLAGE BEAT returned locally and finished with some interest from a tough spot; clearly the post relief will do him good.

Race 2

(1) OHOKA TEXAS N is up in class off a loss for a third consecutive start but he's raced well in all recent and Carlson should work out a perfect trip from this spot. (4) SECRETSOFTHEKNIGHT comes out of claimers after being taken for 25K by unproven connections; he does seem live however and should be considered. (2) NATIONAL DEBT finally got that elusive first seasonal win last out versus lesser but it was no means impressive.

Race 3

(3) SOMETHINGINTHEWIND went a tough two-move trip last week and while he never seriously threatened he did hold well for a board spot; chance to move forward tonight. (2) WINTER BLUES proved stubborn on the front end in his debut at this high claiming level. (1) VALIDUS DEO is in for this 75K tag tonight and the Bamond trainee gets needed post relief; he was Bartlett's choice over the sharp (4) TYE SEELSTER.

Race 4

(7) LUMINOSITY ran his race but was collared by the trip-sitting Melady's Monet; I can't see that one sitting a similar trip so this Burke-trained gelding could go the distance. (6) BOFFIN arrives from Ohio and joins the live Lorentzon barn; interesting. (8) MELADY'S MONET has been rock-solid all year long and would certainly not be a shock, even from this tough spot.

Race 5

(3) TAILGUNNER HANOVER jogged in his Sheppard elimination with a confident Ray Schnittker at the controls. While he did benefit from the heavy favorite breaking in that race, he still looked like he could have gone around again with ease. Youngster should be controlling the action again. (5) RODEO ROCK took bad steps while chasing from the pocket last week, but recovered enough to make the final. He's another that should be forwardly placed. (8) DO OVER HANOVER was an easy winner in his elim where he rated the pace after leaving from his inside spot. Jim Campbell trainee will have to work much harder tonight.

Race 6

(6) E Z NOAH returns to Yonkers now debuting for the potent Allard barn. He's admittedly been facing lesser competition lately but has been winning in dominating front-end fashion. Worth a look if the price is right. I would love (8) GREAT VINTAGE had he not drawn the dreaded eight hole. Still, he's razor-sharp and must be included. (5) CLEAR VISION is still winless in 2015 but we know the double-millionaire is more than capable.

Race 7

(2) LIFE UP FRONT didn't really fire with his best last week, but wasn't really bad either. Veteran is always capable from an inside post with a live trip. (3) LIMELIGHT BEACH probably would have been better off in the 4YO Open rather than this more seasoned competition but he should carry his speed a long way here. (5) MR HASANI N was well-driven to an upset win last out by Tyler Buter.

Race 8

(7) BIG BOY DREAMS was a tad overmatched in stakes action but the Allard trainee was an easy winner when last in with this kind. (6) IDEAL COWBOY set a wicked pace last out and held all but the trip sitter. He's a speed threat again. (4) IDEAL WILLIE was buried last out and never got involved; prior efforts were good and he can be included at a price.

Race 9

(6) O'SUNDLAND went a big effort in defeat last out, where he took a lot of air pulling coverless from the back. Early speed combined with a smoother trip makes him an upset candidate. (4) BIG N BAD returns from stakes action and was facing better when last seen locally; logical. (3) CLASSIESISTAR N drops a touch and could threaten on best.

Race 10

(1) OPEN WATER lacks the class of others but he's been good since the barn change to Banca and he draws inside of some suspect rivals. (2) BJ'S GUY faltered last out at odds-on with little excuse but he still fits nicely here. (5) AMERICAN RAGE is up in class looking for two straight.

Race 11

(5) TWEET ME put in a decent uncovered bid versus better before tiring last out. Mare can power by this type. (3) CASHONTHEROCS really gets tested for class tonight but he looked powerful ripping out of the pocket last week. (1) SEVRUGA has good speed and the best draw.

Race 12

(4) FRANKIES DRAGON had trouble reaching last out from the tough post but his prior efforts from similar spots such as this have been good. (3) FORTY FIVE RED had pace but no chance last week; his early speed should be on display here. (1) ALBERTO CONTADOR N was a well-rated winner last out versus one notch lesser; he'll have to work harder to repeat.
