Best Bet: MR HASANI N (12th)

Spot Play: K SLATER (1st)

Race 1

(5) K SLATER finished with plenty of pace up the rail once shaking free upon dropping to this level; Fanning trainee looms the one to beat in the opener. (3) CHICAGO HANOVER is better than he's been showing recently. (6) ESPEN DE VIE sustained his wide run gamely last out.

Race 2

(1) CODE WORD was hung to dry last out; no such problems departing from the rail. (5) PRINT IT went from awesome to empty last week; what happened? (4) JEPSON HANOVER didn't fire in his last two; perhaps the post relief will help tonight.

Race 3

(8) BETTORS REWARD gets stuck with yet another outside post tonight, but he's been racing well and there are no standouts in here; worth a try at a price. (5) WAYNE THE LEFTY has finished third in his last two while encountering tough trips. (3) DINNER GUEST has speed and a good enough draw.

Race 4

(2) WESTERN CONQUEST got around the half mile track gamely up at Saratoga and that fact plus the post advantage gives him a tactical edge on main rival (4) THEREISAPACEFORUS. The latter looms a big threat for the live Takter barn. (6) GOLDEN PARACHUTE encountered a tough trip in his pari-mutuel debut; his qualifiers seemed fast enough.

Race 5

(5) MALAK USWAAD N has been nothing short of stellar in all recent efforts and he deserves top billing, especially from this midpack post. (1) MONTREAL PHIL has been remarkably sharp for Lachance and he's assigned the best post. (4) AMERICAN RAGE was game for second last week chasing Great Vintage.

Race 6

(1) STEVENSVILLE went a memorable trip at Goshen for Schnittker, where he blazed down the road and staggered home; a rated effort can get it done here. (5) FORTY FIVE RED looks like another sharp one from the Burke outfit. (3) DISARREI hinted at some ability in that qualifier down at Philly and he's capable of hitting the ticket from this spot.

Race 7

(5) PAN FROM NANTUCKET gets needed post relief in his second start at this reduced level; will he be aggressively handled early? (4) PERRITO CALIENTE actually stayed pacing last out and was a solid winner; the ability's there. (1) I FOUGHT DALAW hung late after a perfect cover trip last week; he does draw best here, however.

Race 8

(5) HILLBILLY HANOVER is starting to find his stride as a four-year-old and the Burke trainee looks well-spotted here. (3) MEL MARA is another four-year-old who moves up looking for three in a row and he should be second best. (4) LIGHTNING RAIDER N gets much-needed post relief.

Race 9

(5) SOUTHERN ALLIE drops in class after picking up small checks in his last two versus better; perhaps a live trip can get him home tonight. (1) ELECTROFIRE was shaken off after an uncovered trip last week; he should be on the lead or in the pocket tonight. (2) LETTUCEROCKU A drops and gets post relief, two huge factors that can contribute to his success.

Race 10

(6) VILLAGE BEAT has looked super while cruising in his last two; I think he's sharp enough to handle both the rise in class and the outside draw. (3) DREAM OUT LOUD N goes second-time Lasix and drops from the Open ranks. (1) DUKES UP was used too hard early and tired late; smoother trip and he hits the ticket.

Race 11

(2) NOB HILL HIGH gets the post relief he desperately craves and he finds a soft field; his class should shine tonight. (1) SAINT WILLIAM A will probably try going down the road from this spot. (6) SAFE HARBOR needs some luck but he's probably best of the rest.

Race 12

(1) MR HASANI N grinded uncovered and could not reach while chasing a rated pace last week; it should be a different story tonight from the rail. (2) TOBAGO CAYS returns to his preferred venue and draws well. (4) HI HO STEVERINO was a solid second two back at this level.

Race 13

(1) PANCETTA was closing fast from post eight last out. Four-year-old will relish life from the rail. (3) CASHENDASH HANOVER was a winner locally two back; Pantaleano drives tonight. (2) TIDEWATER TEDDY is up in class again but he does draw well.
