Yonkers: Saturday 6/23 Analysis

MEET STATS: 166 - 483 / $782.20

Best Bet: FOX VALLEY TRIBAL (7th)      Spot Play: D’ARTAGNAN (1st)

Race 1

(3) D’ARTAGNAN was sitting a perfect trip when he bobbled top stretch last out; he debuts for DiDomenico tonight and is worth another try. (1) GODDESS’S JUSTIN was claimed by Casie Coleman; obvious contender. (2) K C COLT has been razor-sharp recently.

Race 2

(3) P H JACKPOT gets some needed class relief and seems capable of turning it around in this field with no standouts. (6) ART TWO D TWO is another that should relish the drop in class. (1) LAHAYE lands inside and has had his moments here in the past.

Race 3

(4) SALEVSTER STALLION has been a bit better in his last two; gelding has proven to be competitive at this level and he could contend here with an alert getaway. (2) SMELLTHECOLORNINE went down the road in his debut for Coleman but Brennan's not here tonight to drive. (7) DVCFLYINGFRENCHMAN was a game pocket-sitting winner last week.

Race 4

(1) MR COOLIE flattened out after a tough trip on the rim last week at The Meadowlands; it should be much smoother sailing tonight from the rail. (5) REPORT FOR DUTY N is erratic but has plenty of talent. (6) MACRAIDER N sat in last week; shows speed tonight?

Race 5

(5) MR SALMING was a game winner versus these last week; capable of repeating. (1) DASH N has been sharp and the veteran got claimed; he can threaten from the rail. (4) TYS A BIG STAR had no visible excuse last week; maybe he's aiming too high at this 40K claiming level.

Race 6

(7) RIVER SHARK was used up early in stakes action at Mohawk; Mark Ford trainee is as good as any here and the price could be inviting due to the outside assignment. (5) FITZS Z TAM was a private purchase for Burke and we all saw him do some good things in the Levy; maybe in Fantasyland we'll get anything near his 8-1 morning line. Has (3) NOB HILL HIGH tailed off, or has he just been in impossible spots? Hard to tell.

Race 7

(6) FOX VALLEY TRIBAL made a ton of money for Jennifer Lappe, then was claimed for 50K; classy veteran can keep the good times rolling. (3) SPARKY is good, but he's never won at this level. (2) LOLAS CRUISER went well in his first start for Laterza.

Race 8

(1) HICKORY HORACE moves all the way in to the rail, where he was a winner a few starts back. (4) URGENT ACTION is another who finds a more realistic spot tonight. (3) SAND BENELLI needs a good trip, but he's capable of competing here.

Race 9

(5) SAMANDAR was facing much better here recently, with some moderate success; he lands a midpack post in this wide-open event and is worth a look. (6 HERE WE GO AGAIN is a steady check-earner, but he NEVER wins. (4) PANSAI YAMAMOTO had no chance last week; he won his prior start.

Race 10

(5) ON THE BRINK gets some class relief and he finds a very beatable group here. (2) FOREST VIC A is still going strong as a teenager; Steve Smith will likely save ground here and he can rally late. (3) OK BRAVEHEART followed good cover and almost blew up the tote board last week.

Race 11

(5) SAINT WILLIAM A was game for second last week versus one notch lesser; Stalbaum's veteran has raced well versus this type in the past. (1) HIGH OCTANE N did the moonwalk from the pocket last week; what the heck happened? He deserves another look. (6) RIEBERCROMBIE may be best but he's got to overcome the post.

Race 12

(2) MEANT TO BE ME gave way on the engine last week; all prior efforts have been solid, however. (4) ELECTRIC OUI has seemed to have tailed off after that record-tying effort. (1) LIFE UP FRONT raced well for a share last week; moves all the way in tonight.
