Yonkers: Saturday 6/22 Analysis

MEET STATS: 162 - 479 / $915.80      BEST BETS: 23 - 39 / $72.70

Best Bet: FOOLS GOLD (1st)

Spot Play: SOMETHING FOR DOC (3rd)

Race 1

(1) FOOLS GOLD has some class to him and he's been good since the barn change to Buter; he's capable of going down the road from this spot. (6) MACRAIDER N drops back down a notch and the veteran was solid in defeat two back at this level. (3) TIREMAN is usually good for a share from inside posts.

Race 2

(4) ESPEN DE VIE gets needed class and post relief and I wouldn't be surprised if he woke up big-time tonight. (2) STONEBRIDGE TONIC returns from Canada and he has a 1:51 2/5 mark here last year. (8) MY SUGAR DADDY finished willingly last week in his local return and he could sweeten up the exotics from this spot.

Race 3

(3) SOMETHING FOR DOC was better last week upon his return. One could assume he's ridiculously overdue and Dube should send him down the road. (4) HI HO STEVERINO regained his stride last week and he should be a big threat here. (5) PANCETTA has proven that he fits here with these rugged overnighters.

Race 4

(1) PONTIAC LUCK broke leaving from the eight hole last week. Tonight he drops in class and draws best. (4) FORIEGN OFFICER also drops a notch for Ford and he's got plenty of class. (2) SAMANDAR was much better last week and he draws well again.

Race 5

(2) KINGS LEGEND enters the DiDomenico barn via claim. Maybe that change will wake this four-year-old up. (3) AUSSIE REACTOR A returns locally after being in some tough spots over at Pocono and he's had success here in the past. (1) FOUR STARZ TRACE draws best and should be good enough to land a share.

Race 6

(7) GREAT VINTAGE is razor-sharp right now and his move to the Open ranks may not be too much of an obstacle to overcome. (6) STATESMAN N returns from The Meadowlands, where he rallied well in three straight starts. (4) SHOOBEES PLACE was last week's Open winner but he faces a tougher group tonight.

Race 7

(4) AMERICAN RAGE takes a needed drop in class tonight and he's capable of awakeing. (5) IDEAL CHAMP was forced to rough it last week and he held for a share; does the four-year-old try to blast tonight? (1) HOLDINGALLTHECARDS returns locally, lands inside and seems capable with these.

Race 8

(5) MONTREAL PHIL was uncovered into a stepped-up back half last week and held for a share; Lachance trainee has been good on most recent starts. (7) CASIMIR JITTERBUG was second best to a sharp rival last week. (8) ESCAPE THE NEWS is obviously good, but is the eight hole too much to overcome?

Race 9

(4) JACKED UP closed sharply last week and this veteran usually strings good efforts together. (1) SEA VENTURE gave way at a short price last week; he gets another crack at the rail. (5) LISTOWEL moves in a couple of notches and can be considered at a price.

Race 10

(6) ART OF ILLUSION finds a pretty soft field of NW18000 tonight and it wouldn't surprise me if Pantaleano tried to blast from the gate. (1) SHORTSTACKED should be the favorite from this spot, especially with Goodell driving. (2) OUR CULLENSCROWN likely needed last week's start.

Race 11

(2) ROYAL MEETING was good at this level two back from a similar inside post; big threat here. (3) PERRITO CALIENTE has been erratic in his local appearances; be careful. (1) FRIDAYNIGHTFLIGHT bumps back up off a confidence-building victory.

Race 12

(7) SHARK INGESTED has been very live since joining the Garcia-Herrera barn and he appears to have the speed to overcome the outside post. (6) OUTRAGEOUS ART exits a fast mile at Pocono (aren't they all fast?) and seems to be the one to beat for the Burke barn. (2) SALEVSTER STALLION has been a model of consistency all season.
