Best Bet: TEXICAN N (2nd) Spot Play: PACING MAJOR N (7th) MEET STATS: 166 - 532 / $943.30 BEST BETS: 25 - 43 / $88.00 Race 1 (1) MACH TIME N tried to brush and got hung to dry through a quick half and three quarters last out and faded badly; Dilloian trainee gets some class relief and seems capable of rebounding. (3) ALOTBETTOR N returns locally off a win at The Meadowlands and did jog versus a notch lesser three back. (2) WINDS OF CHANGE has shown some renewed energy in his last few and the Banca trainee does have plenty of back class. Race 2 (1) TEXICAN N had a useful first 2018 start where he finished with pace in behind a couple of good rivals; Tritton trainee is a borderline Open commodity when right and he can have his way with these. (4) THISJETSANOOKIN has done little in all recent starts but he was an Open winner not too long ago and he may be firing from the gate. (3) WINNING LINC has raced well in all of his recent Yonkers starts. Race 3 (4) DIAMOND COWBOY rallied well last week for a board spot at a big price and while he generally does his best running with slightly lesser there are no standouts here and he may be worth a look. (1) COWBOY TERRIER returns locally and is always live when drawn inside but he doesn't seem worthy of a short price. (2) BEYONDTHESILENCE N has to be better than last week's effort where he failed to fire in a stepped-up back half. Race 4 (7) ANOTHER DAILY COPY is saddled with another poor outside post but he's had some success versus much better this year and can threaten here if put in play early. (3) WE THINK ALIKE returns locally off two front-end scores at Pocono and he had some good efforts here versus $50K claimers. (4) QUICK ASA TRICK N bumps back up in class after an easy score versus lesser but he's another that's been competitive with this type in the past. Race 5 (3) P H SUPERCAM was a well-rated winner last week when drawn into a good spot; he's been pretty good this year and seems capable of repeating with a some luck. Better price looming as well. (4) GIVENUPDREAMING was bet right into the top choice last week from the eight hole, tucked and was in traffic but didn't appear overloaded; prior starts since moving to the Lance Hudson barn were solid. (2) ROCK ON MOE ships north from Pompano and he's been competitive with this type for years. Race 6 (6) SOMEWHERE IN L A took a well-deserved week off after the long Levy series and now he's right back in the box going for $40K in the Open; assuming the intent is there he should prove best. (4) WESTERN FAME threw in a clunker in the Levy final but all other efforts were solid for the Takter trainee; can't argue with this decent midpack post assignment. (5) WINDSONG LEO was the easiest of winners last week and is in razor-sharp form. Race 7 (3) PACING MAJOR N has come back very sharp this year for Tritton and is a nose and neck away from already having two wins; he faces some good ones inside but still deserves top billing. (2) BELL I NO steps up in class off very solid efforts in his last three. (1) SOHO LENNON N is always a player from inside posts and Sears should have him close up throughout. Race 8 (6) FEARLESS MAN impressed me last week when he fired from the pocket to win easily; barn is going well now and he could have a tactical advantage here. (4) LE REVEUR N was just okay in the Bonus trot series but has been competitive at this top level in the past. (7) BUEN CAMINO broke in his seasonal debut but bounced right back with a nice win at The Meadowlands; only problem here is the post and the speed inside of him. Race 9 (2) BADIX HANOVER has been holding his own versus better recently and looks as good as any here in this competitive event. (4) SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP had good pace at both ends last week but the winner had launched off cover and this veteran got clear too late. Big threat. (6) THE REAL ONE didn't seem to be bet right last week, going off at even money when you could have made a case he should have been 2/5 and predictably he lost; classy veteran can score at any given time, at any price and with any trip. Race 10 (5) ROCK N ROLL LEGACY hasn't really put in a bad effort since claimed by Blumenfeld but curiously his regular driver opted off; he may be ignored in the wagering tonight and seems worth including. (4) LACHIE MAGUIRE N returns locally off two solid efforts at Pocono and he's had some good miles here in the past. (1) CHACHING HANOVER has some speed and the rail; Holland's choice. Race 11 (1) DOCTOR BUTCH has never been one of my favorites but he's turned it around in recent weeks and deserves top billing with the class and post relief. (2) BEAT THE DRUM didn't fire last week when asked for more speed but he's inside again and looks like a player. (3) RUN ONEOVER N was both lucky and good when he won his U.S. debut two back, then was outside some good ones last week and never got involved; I suspect he'll be plenty live from this spot. Race 12 (3) LETTUCEROCKTHEM A failed to get involved in his first start back off the freshening but he is capable of being much more active from this spot. (2) O'SUNDLAND has something to prove at this level but he can carry his speed a long way. (5) TECHTOR HANOVER was second best to a sharp one last week and figures for a share again tonight.
