MEET STATS: 121 - 323 / $653.50    BEST BETS: 18 - 26 / $59.20

Best Bet: LUCKY MAN (9th)

Spot Play: SAPPHIRE CITY (7th)

Race 1

(1) MALICIOUS held very gamely after racing uncovered into a stepped up back half; veteran is back on short rest and he's primed for a live trip from this spot. (2) JERRYS BROWN GOLD is back locally, and he's had plenty of success here in the past. (3) RECENT NEWS may lack some of the class of others but he arrives off a sharp score.

Race 2

(4) GIDDY UP DELIGHT disappointed as the chalk versus cheaper in his local return, but there was an equally classy rival cutting the mile in that race; chance to rebound at a much better price. (1) PEMBROKE DEWEY has been sharp and draws best; big contender. (5) LIGHTNING RAIDER N just missed at this level two back.

Race 3

(1) WAYNE THE LEFTY has failed in three straight since dropping to this level but from the rail I'll give him one more chance tonight. (4) COLONIAL ROAD has looked much better since returning. (5) UPFRONT ELLIJAY ED has finished third in five of six and he figures as highly tonight.

Race 4

(1) P H JACKPOT never had a chance last week from the poor post; his prior effort was rock-solid and from the rail tonight he's capable of tripping out. (2) REAL FLIGHT drops in class, draws well and appears to be the most logical win candidate but will he be overbet? (5) FOUR STARZ TRACE has disappointed since the claim but he may be best of the rest here.

Race 5

(2) MONTREAL PHIL drops, draws well again and returns to Bartlett; Lachance trainee has three wins over this surface over the last few months. (4) HANDSOME PRINCE never made the gate at odds-on last out; Burke charge also drops tonight. (6) ESPEN DE VIE has been very sharp in his last three while ascending the class ladder.

Race 6

(7) SOMETHING FOR DOC had the misfortune of landing the eight hole for the Levy final, which clearly sealed his fate. Expect him to motor his way to the top tonight and try to recoup some money for his new owners. (5) CODE WORD needed last week's start after missing some time; he's capable of showing more. (8) ANNIESWESTERNCARD made plenty of coin in the Levy, but the outside spot may present a problem tonight.

Race 7

(3) SAPPHIRE CITY gets an interesting driver change to Sears tonight after getting baked up in a Levy consolation event; track-record holder can get well versus these. (4) KYLE MAJOR debuts for Rene Allard tonight and he's got plenty of back class. (2) REPORT FOR DUTY N was a well-rated winner last week and gets a free ride at this level.

Race 8

(7) JEPSON HANOVER closed with plenty of pace after the fact last week as my top choice; he could be worth a try tonight at a price, especially if they go quick up front. (4) OUTRAGEOUS ART was game in defeat last out; Burke trainee may be the one to beat from this spot. (5) GREAT VINTAGE managed to pick up checks in the Levy; this should be an easier spot.

Race 9

(3) LUCKY MAN drops, moves back inside and figures to be heading to the front. (1) TALKTOMECOURAGE N can sit the pocket from start to finish. (4) COLOSSAL may be able to outlast the rest.

Race 10

(1) PAPA RAY lands another good post tonight and despite facing tougher, the Burke trainee deserves top billing. (2) ROYAL MEETING has closed well in his last three, now he lands inside. (5) SAFE HARBOR has missed some time but he's got some class to him and he's more than capable of landing a share.

Race 11

(3) FORIEGN OFFICER returns off a game, speedy mile at Pocono; Mark Ford-trained veteran appears to be another one that's in a spot to be aggressive early. (1) SHORTSTACKED usually races well from inside posts such as this. (2) LUCKY MCTRUCKY lacks the class of others but he's been really sharp in his last few.
