Best Bet: MOSTINTERESTINGMAN (4th) Spot Play: AZUL POOL (3rd) MEET STATS: 199 - 622 / $1,114.70 BEST BETS: 29 - 51 / $99.90 Race 1 (2) TORRID BROMAC N never got involved last week from the outside post but he moves all the way inside and is a proven commodity at this level. (1) FAMEOUS WESTERN has been good pretty much all year and is a prime player here but that 6/5 morning line isn't too appetizing. (3) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING should be close up and doesn't have that much else to beat to land a spot on the ticket. Race 2 (7) JACK VERNON has really come into his own this season for the Juile Miller barn and with a clean and alert getaway the gelding can handle these. (4) ANDY RAY raced evenly for a board spot last out, but that was 3 weeks ago; if tight for this event he should threaten. (1) DYNAMIC EDGE returns locally from a successful stint at Pocono and draws best. Race 3 (3) AZUL POOL did hang a bit in the late stages last week but it was an improved effort; he picks up Dube tonight and has shown he can do it from on or off the pace. (1) MACON GEORGIA A looks like he'll be the default favorite from this spot but there's been some holes in his game recently and he loses his regular driver. (2) MACH TIME N gets away from the eight hole which makes him a player. Race 4 (2) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN is always a bit of a risky proposition but the drop in class and switch to Bartlett is hard to ignore. (1) DEWYCOLORINTHELINE took a softer field down the road in an added-distance event last Sunday and he's got the back class to be a player here. (5) KATCH KANNA has solid speed off the gate which always puts him in the hunt. Race 5 (4) PASS LINE BLUECHIP was probably used a bit harder in the earlier stages than she wanted to in the Lismore elimination and was nailed on the money by the trip-sitting (2) JEWELS FORREAL; I can see a scenario where they are sitting one-two again and perhaps Bartlett's filly can dig in to the wire. (6) ALEXA'S POWER would have been my choice to win it all if she didn't land outside her main competition; obviously she's a strong closing threat. Race 6 Although (3) SPRINGSTEEN came up a touch short in his elimination it seemed like the perfect tightener coming into the $300K final of the Rooney. Allard trainee lands inside of all his main competition giving driver Brian Sears many tactical options to work out the winning trip. (4) TRUMP NATION was second best to a good one in the Reynolds then showed plenty of guts holding off the competition in last weeks elim; he interestingly changes barns here off a private purchase...will that help or hurt? Tough draws here for both (7) BABES DIG ME and (8) DECOY and both seem to lack the sufficient speed to get involved early. They could be looking at minor awards at best. Race 7 (4) LONG LIVE ROCK was second best to a runaway last out and the Allard trainee has been sharp pretty much all season; he deserves a long look in this tough-to-figure event. (7) WESTERN FAME gave way after flashing speed out of town but was a sharp winner here the start prior. (5) ARTFUL WAY earns to a trip to the Open after three sharp wins but I wasn't on board for any of them so I certainly won't start now. I'll use underneath. Race 8 (6) LUCAN HANOVER never got close last week after an uncovered try into a rated pace; Bartlett's back on board tonight and they teamed up for a big win three back. (4) BEYOND DELIGHT didn't fire last week in his local return but he faces a notch softer tonight and can be more involved. (1) CHUMLEE A has been off his game of late but it's hard to entirely dismiss him. Race 9 (5) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN tucked, brushed and jogged last Sunday in the added-distance Open and somehow isn't assigned the outside in this handicap race; seems likely to repeat here at a short price, (2) FASHION CREDITOR may be in a bit over his head but he's been sharp recently and can make some noise from this inside spot. (6) SEASONED SAINT didn't fire at all last week in the race where the top choice jogged and somehow he's assigned outside of that one; small share predicted. Race 10 (2) ALOTBETTOR N has been racing well enough recently and lands another good post while Sears picks up the drive; seems to have as good a shot as any here. (1) GIVENUPDREAMING has been super since moving to the Lance Hudson barn and is obviously a big player from this spot as the likely favorite. (4) BADIX HANOVER beat lesser here last Monday and will have to step up his game to make it two straight. Race 11 (3) SOMEWHERE FANCY gets some needed class relief and note he was an Open Handicap winner just four starts ago. (1) THE REAL ONE drew off versus a notch lesser last out but he was a disappointment three back from a similar spot and he'll probably be the favorite here; obviously he can win but I'm just inclined to try someone else. (4) MCERLEAN is a streaky sort who faces tougher off two razor-sharp wins. Race 12 (5) BETTOR MEMORIES raced well here in the Levy but has been a bit of a disappointment this season as he's still an 0-fer; I do like the driver change to Bartlett, however. (3) PERFECT BET may be a bit cheaper than others but he was super in his last two local tries. (4) ROCK ON MOE has come back strong this year; ageless wonder can still get it done at the top levels.
