Yonkers: Saturday 5/19 Analysis

MEET STATS: 133 - 388 / $641.50

Best Bet: TIDEWATER TEDDY (4th)       Spot Play: MAYFLOWERMOONSHINE (3rd)

Race 1

(2) WESTERN DAKOTA gets needed class and post relief; Vallee charge looks more than capable from this spot. (7) SOUTHWIND TABOR showed a bit more life last week. (4) ARDUOUS has back class, which will resurface eventually.

Race 2

(2) ROADWAY has closed with a ton of pace in his last three and he seems well overdue for a win. (4) MILITARY STRATCOM drops in class off a jogola win and a solid second; only Lou Pena can get away with this. (1) SPACE WALK has been going well lately and draws best.

Race 3

(3) MAYFLOWERMOONSHINE was a good second to the classy Froggy Turner in his debut for the sharp Buter barn; he can take the next logical step forward tonight. (4) AVOGADRO HANOVER rates pretty highly from these connections. (1) ALLAMERICAN INCA gets good post relief.

Race 4

(5) TIDEWATER TEDDY has been getting progressively better since the high-priced claim by Vallee; Brennan drives tonight so one could assume that the gelding will be firing on all cylinders. (4) MASTER OF DESIRE bumped back to this level last week and went nowhere from post eight; he can be more involved tonight. (2) COLONIAL ROAD blasted lesser first off the claim.

Race 5

(4) FOREST VIC A rides the rail every week and picks up checks; this looks like a live spot for Steve Smith to ask the oldtimer for more speed. (3) MAJOR BELLE is logical-looking stock from Burke. (6) LOLAS CRUISER has been in decent form and he could rally for a share.

Race 6

(5) VERSADO bumps to the penthouse tonight off a solid front-end score and Pantaleano may be able to hit the lead from this spot. (6) SEA VENTURE tried it on the front end last week and collapsed; leave it Brennan to work out a live trip tonight. (7) NOB HILL HIGH is a rock-solid commodity but he may be done in by his lack of gate speed.

Race 7

(2) NY ICE had plenty of pace from the pocket last Sunday at Philly but he shook free too late; he returns here at a reduced claiming level. (4) SAND SUMMERFIELD has some speed, could use that to his advantage. (5) MCGREAT has been good since the McDermott claim.

Race 8

(1) BETTOR DESIGN faces some tough ones here but he's been sharp and he lands the best post. (6) POKER HAT has been a model of consistency since joining the Pena barn. (5) URGENT ACTION bumps to this level off a solid placing.

Race 9

(4) MACRAIDER N was parked the mile last week and understandably tired; what are the chances of that happening to Brennan two weeks in a row? (5) LUCKY MAN returns locally off a failed attempt at Philly. (1) DALLENBACH HANOVER has been sharp and looks for two in a row.

Race 10

(3) HIGH OCTANE N was left uncovered in a quick third panel last out and did not threaten; I haven't lost faith in Steve Smith's import. (1) GRAB YOUR KEYS has clearly found his stride in recent starts. (5) ART TWO D TWO may have tailed off in recent starts.

Race 11

(4) PEMBROKE NICK is feeling good again for Lou Pena and he can easily handle the class hike. (2) FOX VALLEY TRIBAL was a 10 claimer last December; millionaire is clearly feeling good now. (3) RAINING AGAIN has been a steady earner for Robinson.

Race 12

(5) MR COOLIE was a decent stalking third versus some tough ones last week; he could pull off the minor upset with a live trip. (2) EMJAYEM GRAND A is clearly the one to beat on paper. (3) POWER OF A MOMENT went evenly last out and he should be close to the action tonight.
