(1) MACHTU N also gets needed class relief and he lands the rail again; big chance but he won't offer any value. (7) HIGHLAND TARTAN has been sharp recently and I'll try to sneak him into the number at a big price. Race 2 (4) TECHTOR HANOVER was an easy winner in his last two tries at this NW20000 level and he has a live chance in this competitive field. (8) BAKERSFIELD was collared late by a sharp rival last week and would be the top pick if not for the post. (1) HIGHVIEW CONALL N beat lesser in game style recently and figures for a share here. Race 3 (4) ORILLIA JOE found the Levy waters a bit too deep but certainly didn't race badly; anything close to his best effort will destroy there. (1) MACH PRIDE was a winner from a similar spot two back; Brennan's choice. (3) TENACIOUS ONE A has been very consistent since moving to Team Stalbaum and he should be close up throughout. Race 4 (1) SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP raced well at The Meadowlands in his last two, both at odds-on with Jimmy Takter driving. Clearly he looms large from this spot, but at a short price. (3) BETTOREVER perked up big-time last week with Dave Miller driving. (4) RUN ONEOVER N makes his U.S. debut off a willing qualifier and like all these Down-under imports they deserve a serious look. Race 5 (3) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN got nailed at the wire last week after grinding in the fog; veteran lands in a similar spot and figures to be a better price than main contender (4) GREAT VINTAGE. The latter drops from Levy action into a softer spot and is clearly the one to beat. (2) TALK SHOW is unproven at this level but does come off a game win. Race 6 (2) BIT OF A LEGEND N held firm last week versus a well-rated Dr. J Hanover and this looks like a controlling spot for the former Levy champ. (1) CHUMLEE A moves back inside and can be second best from start to finish. (3) LONG LIVE ROCK has been good but he'll likely be chasing from this spot into a rated pace. Race 7 (5) MELADY'S MONET steps back up to the Open ranks after jogging versus lesser and gets a favorable post assignment; classy veteran can easily repeat. (6) IN SECRET was close up last week and can be hustled away from the gate. (4) ROCK OF CASHEL may not be the best win candidate but he's been sharp in most recent efforts. Race 8 (3) ROCKIN RON was snapped on the wire last week by a sharp rival but that loss was obviously fast enough to rebound here; interesting matchup with (1) SOMEWHERE IN L A as to who will be cutting the mile. The latter has done nothing wrong in 2018 and now getting the rail only helps his chances. (6) MISSILE J took control early last week and never looked back but the outside post clearly hurts his chances; Tetrick's choice. Race 9 (1) MACH IT SO was forced to track from the pocket last week and came up completely empty; I suspect he'll be put on the front end tonight and will rebound. (3) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE was stuck off the pace into a soft half and didn't gain in last; prior uncovered efforts were good. (5) KEYSTONE VELOCITY just hasn't been all that good this year; who knows what to expect tonight. Race 10 (2) P H SUPERCAM has been very sharp while racing in some tough luck; this is not the strongest of Preferred fields and this veteran may be put on the front end. (4) SOMEWHERE FANCY steps up off a win and that's three good efforts in a row. (7) SOHO LENNON A has been in stellar shape but has to contend with an outside post tonight. Race 11 (5) FASHION CREDITOR may have been a touch outclassed at the Open level but he has raced well in similar scenarios in the past; worth a look if the price is right. (4) GURAL HANOVER is clearly the one to beat but he'll also be overbet. (6) FEARLESS MAN has strong early speed which gives him a chance. Race 12 (1) AMERICANPRIMETIME won right off the bench at The Meadowlands and he lands in a prime spot to go down the road. (2) ROLAND N ROCK gets needed post relief which obviously makes him a player. (6) DOCTOR BUTCH just missed last week in a much-improved try but he's outside what he needs to beat tonight.
