Yonkers: Saturday 4/27 Analysis + Video Preview

MEET STATS: 121 - 323 / $653.50    BEST BETS: 18 - 26 / $59.20

Best Bet: MR HASANI N (11th)

Spot Play: JEPSON HANOVER (4th)

Race 1

(1) UP FRONT ELLIJAY ED is not a prolific winner but he does draw best tonight and has Sears driving; this field has some question marks in it, so proceed with caution. (3) ONE MORE LAUGH is back up in class after finally getting the job done. (2) SOUTHWIND TABOR got shuffled and had no chance last week; from this spot he's capable of saving ground and landing a share.

Race 2

(2) PAPA RAY looked pretty solid beating up on lesser upon arrival; four-year-old can repeat from this spot and get the Burke stable festivities underway for tonight. (5) REPORT FOR DUTY N was bottomed out last week by the classy Tobago Cays; I still contend that he's better in claimers. (7) ELECTRIC OUI left hard but was stuffed in the pocket last out, then hung late; he's a threat again with alert gate speed.

Race 3

(6) MIGHTY YOUNG JOE is a veteran with almost 450K in the bank for Stacy Chiodo and he's clearly feeling good now. Capable here with a live trip. (4) WESTERN DAKOTA always gives a good accounting of himself, especially when drawn inside. (3) COLOSSAL gets needed post relief, has Brennan driving and he can hit the ticket with some racing luck.

Race 4

(3) JEPSON HANOVER looked so good last week with that uncovered victory that I think he can repeat versus these, especially with the post advantage on his main rivals. (1) BETTOR DESIGN went down the road last week; he always races as well as he draws. (6) BJ'S BEQUIA returns locally and has the class to contend.

Race 5

(5) ROCKINCAM was highly regarded entering the Levy and he did share a win in round one; he should aggressively head to the front tonight and never look back. (2) SAPPHIRE CITY broke off turn one last week after securing the pocket. I don't know what happened there, but I'll assume it was just a fluke and he'll be good to go tonight. (4) ATOCHIA is clearly out of form now but he's capable on his best day. (1) CODE WORD has missed time after scratching sick; who knows what to expect.

Race 6

(1) RAMALAMA draws best here and Yannick should work out a perfect trip here to score. Entrymate (1A) GINGER AND FRED may possibly be the best here but she's stuck in post eight; good insurance to have as part of the entry. (3) ROYAL CEE CEE N has proven to be a bit camera-shy, but this is a good spot to do some damage. (5) HANDSOFFMYCOOKIE tightened up with a nice speed try last week.

Race 7

(2A) ANNDROVETTE is arguably the best mare in the series, but she lands the worst post for the final. Both her and entrymate (2) KRISPY APPLE have poor posts, but that will only help their price in here. I can see a pace scenario in here where one of the two can storm off cover. (1) CAMILLE has been rock-solid in the series and draws well enough where she's the one to beat in here. (3) FEELING YOU has very quietly won three of five legs and she draws best for the final.

Race 8

(5) SILENT SWING was second best in his last two to Foiled Again and Annieswesterncard. Based on those two efforts the veteran should find his way to the winners circle in here. (7) WHACKAMOLE HANOVER is clearly feeling good now showing sharp speed in all recent efforts. (1) ARTHUR lacks the class of others but he's also been racing well of late.

Race 9

(5) SHOOBEE'S PLACE has raced well in every leg of the Levy without a win to show for it. Classy veteran can race from on or off the pace and Brennan has options from this spot. (6) ELECTROFIRE lures co-owner Dave Miller here to drive. Former claimer will likely be forwardly placed off the gate tonight. (1) LETTUCEROCKU A hit the board on two of his last three, both from the rail slot. He figures just as highly tonight.

Race 10

(1A) FOILED AGAIN faces a bit of an uphill climb tonight after landing his first bad post this season. I have to believe Gingras will have the champion pacer geared up to fire off the gate. If he can hit the lead, he will be trouble. (1) ANNIESWESTERNCARD is near-perfect in his Levy trials and he can obviously take all with any sort of a live trip. That effort on March 9th where he stormed home from nowhere still sticks out in my mind. (2) RAZZLE DAZZLE got lucky with the draw, and that may make him the one to beat here. I expect Sears to stack up the early speed and only yield to one rival. (3) VERSADO may elect for a ground-saving trip from this spot. If he doesn't get buried he can grab a nice share.

Race 11

(2) MR HASANI N has regained his form in his last three and he clearly looms as the one to beat here. (4) MAJOR BELLE failed badly at Philly last out but he can wake up with the change in venue. (1) FOUR CORNERS draws best, which makes him a threat.

Race 12

(1) TOBAGO CAYS won for fun in an effortless 1:51 3/5 last week; from this spot he can cap off a chalky late double. (3) HI HO STEVERINO was semi-bottomed by the top one last week but he rates better than the rest here. (5) SHORTSTACKED returns to Goodell, who was the pilot the last one this one was victorious.
