Best Bet: GO COLLECT N (10th) Spot Play: SWING CITY (11th) MEET STATS: 75 - 248 / $431.30 BEST BETS: 9 - 21 / $35.00 Race 1 (6) SIMPLY SUSATIONAL N was very good in his U.S. debut for Stalbaum, just missing from the pocket to a classy rival. He has a bit of work to do having drawn outside his main competition but the price should be ok. (4) SOMEWHERE IN L A looked like he's ready for action off those qualifiers and we know he's best here but he probably won't offer much value. (1) FAMEOUS WESTERN didn't fire his best last week into a stepped-up back half but his prior efforts were solid. Race 2 (2) SIMEON has just been okay in his two 2018 starts but he may be a bit tighter tonight and he draws well in a field with no standouts. (1) PANAMANIAN HANOVER gets much-needed post relief and will be more involved. (4) FOX VALLEY ILIAD hails from Team Stalbaum and he may be firing early from this spot. Race 3 (5) WESTERN HILL had no realistic chance last week from the eight hole but he moves in a few slots tonight and this looks like a good spot to try leaving the gate. (4) MACON GEORGIA A raced much better last week, finally showing some signs of life. (6) BLOOD BROTHER gets a free ride at this level off a win but he's outside what he needs to beat; may be a tough spot. Race 4 (5) ROLAND N ROCK could not reach the sharp front-end winner last week but a repeat of that effort should be enough to handle these. (3) DEETZY was decent in his 2018 debut, has plenty of early speed and should be tighter tonight. (1) DOCTOR BUTCH has shown signs of life but does step up in class off a loss and could be overbet from this spot; I'm not willing to take a short price on this inconsistent veteran. Race 5 (1) BOOK BINGE was a good second in his seasonal debut then was going nowhere last week from a tough spot; he moves all the way back inside and meets a pretty soft group. (5) HOT DEUCE has shown good speed in his last two and has proven he can compete at this level. (6) SETTLEMOIR was a solid second last out but has lots to do tonight from this outside spot; consider on the bottom of the ticket. Race 6 (7) ROCKIN RON raced very willingly in his 2018 debut over at The Meadowlands and he's simply better than these; I expect a top effort despite the poor post as he's probably tuning up for the Levy. (5) THISJETSABOOKIN went wire-to-wire last week and he should be on the move early again. (2) GOKUDO HANOVER missed a nose off an uncovered try last out but I was left a bit disappointed as he couldn't go by; good draw helps him again. Race 7 (1) ANOTHER DAILY COPY raced well in his seasonal debut for a barn that finally seems to be heating up and he's very fortunate to land the rail spot. (5) WE THINK ALIKE hikes in class to uncharted waters but he's been very sharp and should be a good price. (2) ORILLIA JOE was rather flat last week but he clearly capable of bouncing back and taking all; another one with a fortunate inside spot. Race 8 (3) J T has been on my radar the last two weeks but failed to get involved from outside posts. I'm not convinced he's a $40,000 claimer but you can make the same case for most of these. (4) TEO ENTEO A is up in class looking for two straight for Stalbaum. (5) TALK SHOW raced evenly last week sitting the rail; shows speed tonight? Race 9 (7) RUBBER DUCK was overloaded with trot in last Sunday's added-distance feature and he's sharp enough to repeat; getting a spot inside (8) IN SECRET certainly helps. The latter was a good second in his seasonal debut and has to be on the move early for his best chance. (4) DOG GONE LUCKY was flying late for second in his last local start but he still has to prove he belongs at this top level; sharp sort still must be included. Race 10 (3) GO COLLECT N was used hard last week and still dug in stubbornly to the wire in a solid runner-up effort. DiDomenico trainee can bounce back from this spot. (6) DO OVER HANOVER is back at Yonkers after righting the ship up at Saratoga; Allard trainee is proven at this $50K claiming level. (4) BJ'S GUY hiked to this level off the claim and raced pretty well; consider for a share at a price. Race 11 (5) SWING CITY was hounded most of the way last week and still almost prevailed; sharp sort seems overdue for a win. (3) MACINTOSH N gets much-needed post relief and Stratton drives again for Vallee. (1) TAKE IT BACK TERRY is certainly classy enough to take this but he never offers much value. Race 12 (6) BAKERSFIELD managed to land a small share last week from a tough spot; gelding is stuck outside but he's a proven commodity with these and should offer the best value of the contenders. (5) DREAM OF LUCK powered home from way back last week in that wild finale and he gets a free ride at this level. (1) BETTOR ROCK ON N raced okay last week finishing in behind some good ones.
