Spot Play: SHARKS LEGACY (7th)

Race 1

(1) MONEY TWITCH A is not a prolific winner but note that he was claimed last out; perhaps he wakes up for his new barn. (3) FOREST VIC A gets some post relief, which should certainly help his cause. (5) MORTAL ZIN continued well for second despite getting overtaken last week; he fits with these.

Race 2

(4) JETTIN JUSTIN didn't really factor in the outcome in his first start for new connections but he certainly didn't disgrace himself; he could be a price play in this competitive event. (2) RECKLESS RIC kept up well in a fast mile last week. (1) MYSTERIOUS MOMENT returns from the Meadowlands, draws best and has Smith driving tonight.

Race 3

(5) NINE INNINGS understandably tired after last week's tough trip; veteran should be able to make the lead tonight. (3) BACCARAT STENA gets some post relief, should be a late threat. (4) UNTOLD LEGEND needed last week's start and he paced home willingly; Vallee trainee should be even better tonight.

Race 4

(3) MR ROCKFORD was a sharp two-move winner last out; that's two good efforts since his local return. No reason to think he can't do it again. (1) GLASS PACK amazingly draws the rail again; one to beat? (2) ANNOUNCEMENT N was collared by the top choice last week; obvious contender.

Race 5

(3) DIABLO SEELSTER has been razor-sharp in most recent outings and the gelding should be able to reach from this spot. (6) GO WEST LUCKY CAM has missed some time, but he jogged when last at this level. (8) OIL MAGNET is like a new horse since Burke got his hands on him; can he overcome the eight hole?

Race 6

(6) SAPPHIRE CITY was much more involved as expected last week, and he got nailed late by an airborne rival. Forward placement tonight would give the track record holder a big chance. (5) TOBAGO CAYS may also be leaving the gate, and that's his best game. (8) SOMETHING FOR DOC is stuck in the eight hole again, which probably seals his fate.

Race 7

(4) SHARKS LEGACY obviously needed last week's effort, his first start since last spring. Sears' choice of three should be live tonight. (1) WHATSITTOYOUGRANT has speed and the rail, good combo. (2) BETTOR DESIGN has been disappointing recently, but he did close willingly last week for a small share and he figures to hit the board from this spot.

Race 8

(8) STONEHOUSE ADAM may need some sort of setup from this poor post, but the Burke trainee appears capable at a price. (3) ELECTRIC OUI is as consistent as they come. (5) CLIC K faltered after a rugged uncovered try versus some tough ones at The Meadowlands; Larry Remmen trainee could fit well here.

Race 9

(1) EIGHTEEN drops, draws best and will head down the road with Sears. (4) SHORTSTACKED gets much-needed post relief and he'll be more involved. (2) FAT MANS ALLEY couldn't reach last week versus tougher; he's good for a share from this spot.

Race 10

(2) RELENTLESS G went a rugged uncovered trip last week only to get nailed by a flying Jacked Up; give him another look from this similar spot. (1) WINTER RETREAT A returns locally off a win at Philly and he's well-spotted at this level. (4) BJ's BEQUIA was victorious last week, but he defeated a rival that never wins.

Race 11

(1) FLIPPER J always does well from inside posts; that makes him a logical selection tonight. (3) WAYNE THE LEFTY showed in that qualifier that he's ready for action. (6) ELECTRIC SHOOTER was never involved last week versus better when he suffered broken equipment; he's capable with these.

Race 12

(2) WHOGOESFIRST was outfinished last week when it counted but it was an improved effort in his second start off the bench; expect better tonight. (1) LUCKY MAN moves up off a win but he's got the class to compete with these, (6) JACKED UP absolutely exploded home last week to post the upset; who knew he was capable of that?
