Best Bet: MACON GEORGIA A (4th) Spot Play: BJ’S GUY (7th) MEET STATS: 80 - 272 / $455.10 BEST BETS: 9 - 21 / $35.00 Race 1 (1) ALL DOWN THE LINE had been on a nice form spree prior to being in over his head then drawing poorly; the move inside plus some softer competition can get him over the top tonight. (7) MR RIGHT HANOVER also faces softer and could be a good price from this outside spot. (3) IN THE HUDDLE is a speed player and would be no shock if he took these coast to coast. Race 2 (4) THEARTOFCONFUSION A gets some needed post relief, faces no standouts and looks like a very live player. (1) MOONLITEONTHEBEACH raced okay in his local return and there was no shame in losing to Somewhere in L A. (3) SETTLEMOIR gets some post relief and could be more involved; consider him for a share. Race 3 (5) SOMEWHERE IN L A benefitted from his main rival breaking and easily took care of business as expected last week; Banca charge gets a free ride at this level and should repeat. (3) WINDSONG LEO drops in class and moves in a few spots; clearly the main threat. (1) A SWEET RIDE broke on the lead last week; prior form was fine. Race 4 (1) MACON GEORGIA A was a big 'go' last week and raced huge only to get nailed late; Hudson trainee is clearly feeling good again and looms a big threat from this spot. (2) DOCTOR BUTCH was left alone last week and prevailed late over a classy rival; can he string two wins together? (5) P H SUPERCAM can still be competitive with this type and he did flash good speed last out before getting jammed on the rail. Race 5 (1) BETTOREVER figures to work out a better trip than last week and he will likely offer a bit better value than the returning (3) DANCIN YANKEE. The latter certainly needed last week's start and he's overloaded with back class. (4) STATESMAN N moves in a couple of spots and can land a share. Race 6 In a tough-to-figure Open Handicap I'll take a chance with (3) TEXAS TERROR N moving to the top level. Veteran has been a Levy participant (and finalist) in the past and is in stellar shape having won his last three. (4) SOHO LENNON A is unproven with this type but he was good last week and may be forwardly placed from this spot. (7) GOKUDO HANOVER is a nose shy of a two-race win streak in the Open but the move outside doesn't help. Race 7 (1) BJ'S GUY has been very sharp in two starts off the Garcia-Herrera claim, even flashing previously unknown gate speed. He can repeat from this spot. (4) GO COLLECT N was surprisingly flat last week; better price looming tonight if you want to give him another try. (2) BEAT THE DRUM has been on fire since moving to Team Bongiorno. Race 8 (3) DO OVER HANOVER didn't fire last week but he drops, draws better and is capable of rebounding. (1) J T kept up well in a blazing pace before hanging late; jury is still out as to where this gelding fits but he's worth a look from the rail. (4) MAJOR BUCKS gets needed post relief and can round out the ticket. Race 9 (7) NF HAPPENSTANCE is back to the mile distance after giving way under pressure on that Sunday afternoon; Jack Parker, Jr. will be firing early once again with the sharp mare. (8) IN SECRET had a good trip last week and delivered the win; he's capable of repeating if things go his way. (5) MONEY MAVEN lands inside the top contenders in here and he's capable on his best day. Race 10 (6) MCSPIDEY drops a notch in class after being unfairly assigned outside in his last two where he didn't race that badly; he's stuck outside again but should be a good enough price to take a chance. (7) DON'TCALLMEFRANCIS just missed in his last two at the Open level; sharp sort must be included despite the poor draw. (2) TAKE IT BACK TERRY is tough to play on top until he shows more. Race 11 (6) ANDY RAY was very sharp winning first time out for his new connections; no reason why he can't repeat versus this suspect field. (4) CRAZY ABOUT PAT drops in class off a needed start and should have much more to offer. (5) FOX VALLEY ILIAD stumbled in the pocket last week costing him and now he faces tougher; tough to like on top as the morning line favorite. Race 12 (1) RODEO ROCK transitioned into a solid overnight horse last year and he raced willingly in his two 2018 starts while having no chance; should be all-systems-go tonight. (7) SIMPLY SUSATIONAL N did a good job to get back into contention after breaking last week; Stalbaum import clearly has plenty of talent. (2) STATHAM N steps up for Tritton looking for four straight. [DRF HARNESS NEWSLETTER: Sign Up for the FREE DRF Harness Newsletter. Fresh content and insights delivered each Thursday.]
