Email

MEET STATS:  60 - 178 / $288.60

Best Bet: PAN FROM NANTUCKET (12th)     Spot Play: LIGHTNING ELVIS (4th)

Race 1

(1) NOBLES GRAND SLAM faltered after giving up the lead at the half last week; veteran gets the rail tonight in a less than stellar field and he's capable of rebounding. (5) SHELLYS BLOCKBUSTER looks like he's capable of showing more for Lachance. (2) RAFFERTY HANOVER drops out of claimers and gets needed post relief.

Race 2

(1) LISLEA MILES drew off in 1:52 3/5 last out for Pena; he'll be odds-on to repeat. (5) TIVOLI HANOVER and (4) CAMS ORACLE are a couple of speedsters who both figure to be involved early.

Race 3

(6) POKER HAT returns locally and is now in the Pena barn; need I say more? (5) FOUR TRUMPS A has tons of class for Stalbaum and he may be ready off those qualifiers. (7) PEDRO ISLAND is stuck outside again, but he does drop in class and he may be able to sneak into the number at a nice price.

Race 4

(3) LIGHTNING ELVIS always gives a good accounting of himself and he drops in class tonight; gelding gets the call from this spot. (5) MILITARY STRATCOM is arguably in career form right now. (6) COME TOGETHER is sharp, but he's got some tough ones inside of him.

Race 5

(1) WHOLLY LOUY dropped into claimers last out, raced well enough to win but was nailed on the money; classy veteran should go down the road tonight. (3) PEMBROKE NICK drops in class off a rare no-response effort for Pena. (6) GREYSTONE CASH is super-sharp, but can he reach from this spot?

Race 6

(6) TOBAGO CAYS  set up with perfect cover and drew off easily in last week's edition of the Open; Pantaleano gets along perfectly with this gelding and he could work out a similar trip. (5) ROCK TO GLORY has rallied with authority in his last two. (4) CODE WORD is another sharp one, and he gets post relief tonight.

Race 7

(1) CANACO RUN has been better in his last two; Lachance should be able to work out some sort of stalking trip from this spot. (3) FOREST VIC A is still more than capable at age 13. (5) UNTOLD LEGEND has turned into legitimate high-conditioned stock for Vallee.

Race 8

(2) RIVER SHARK looked good on the front end last week but faltered late; give the classmaster another look with the improved post. (3) CORKY BARAN finished with pace from a tough spot last out; Drolet barn has been live all season. (1) ANDY ROO was a well-rated winner versus slightly lesser; draws best here and keeps Brennan.

Race 9

(2) RAINING AGAIN had no real chance in his second start for Jason Robinson; he will be much more involved from the inside post. (3) OUTA MY HEAD dropped back to this level last week but was stuck in post eight; toss that line out and he's got a huge chance. (1) PACIFIC DESPERADO can hold off the rest from this spot.

Race 10

(4) LAHAYE is back with Brennan after rallying mildly versus the runaway Big Bay Point; Ford trainee is more than capable with these. (7) ART TWO D TWO gets class relief for Team Buter, only problem is the post. (5) SHORTSTACKED won at this level two back for Vallee.

Race 11

(2) WHATSITTOYOUGRANT was in over his head last week; he's a neck shy of a two-race win streak at this level. (8) NY ICE debuts for Lightning Lane and Pena; he's got the speed to overcome the eight hole. (4) SAMS ESCAPE is capable with these, must mind his manners.

Race 12

(1) PAN FROM NANTUCKET couldn't gain into the rated pace last out; Goodell should seriously consider controlling the action tonight. (3) B JS BEQUIA was second best last week to a classy front-running rival. (5) REAL FLIGHT ships from The Meadowlands off a game effort and he lures Brennan.
