Best Bet: RANCOUSY (11th) Spot Play: A BETTOR HAT (4th) MEET STATS: 434 - 1248 / $2,354.20 BEST BETS: 61 - 106 / $203.00   Race 1 (1) SANTA FE BEACHBOY had a useful tightener last week off the bench and he has license to be much sharper this time around. (4) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN is really starting to frustrate me as he keeps coming up a bit short. With that said the Tritton trainee has to be included. (5) THE WAYFARING MAN returns locally for Burke and has been showing plenty of speed out of town. Race 2 (1) PAPPY'S PAL lands the best post in a very questionable field and gets the default checkmark in an uninspiring race. (5) MR BLISSFULL seems to alternate good and bad efforts; if he shows up to play tonight he can take this. (3) ONE THROUGH TEN does have plenty of early speed which can set him up with a nice trip. Race 3 (1) SOMEWHERE IN L A was totally empty trying to make a second move last week. He drops in class again, lands the best post and I guess the fact that he's right back in the box tells me he's feeling fine. (3) DREAM OUT LOUD N always gives a good effort when starting from a decent post; include. (5) AMERICANPRIMETIME is reunited with Merton and this 5-year-old has been showing some versatility in his game; off the pace tonight? Race 4 (4) A BETTOR HAT has been reasonably sharp of late and has flashed good early speed on occasion; this is not a strong field of NW20000 types. (2) OH JONNY B GOOD N gets some post relief and certainly seems logical. (3) BIG JER never had much success at this level but he was actually good last week from off the pace. Race 5 (2) MACON GEORGIA A has been razor sharp in all recent while ascending the claiming ladder; no reason he can't take this with any sort of clean trip. (5) DO OVER HANOVER attacked and drew clear versus similar last week and the Allard trainee can certainly repeat. (3) WINDS OF CHANGE needed last week's start and could be better tonight. Race 6 (5) SCOTT ROCKS bounced back from his empty effort in the Dan Rooney invitational with two solid efforts and he may be the one to catch from this spot. (2) ORILLIA JOE isn't a true 'open' horse but he's sharp, has speed and a good inside post. (6) MOSSDALE CONNER N returns off a long break and I suspect the Tritton trainee will need a start or two to hit his high gear. Race 7 (5) MR RIGHT HANOVER has been remarkably sharp for a barn that's showing life for the first time in ages and I'll seriously consider him for an upset versus this suspect field. (3) ANOTHER DAILY COPY faces older after a game score versus 4-year-olds last week and he's certainly talented enough to take this. (1) BUNGALOW BILL N has been good for Vallee and he's in line for a perfect trip from this post. Race 8 (5) CAVIART LUCA dug in to prevail last week on the dropdown and really doesn't face that much tougher tonight while getting assigned a very reasonable midpack post; Burke trainee is capable of repeating. (4) BLOOD BROTHER gets needed post relief and will be more involved. (2) BORDER CONTROL A didn't get involved last week in the Open but had been razor-sharp in prior starts since returning from Canada. Race 9 (5) PACING MAJOR N finished with pace last week, like he always does, but had too far to come. Tritton trainee seems capable of reaching tonight. (2) IDEAL JIMMY beat these two back, closed fast last week and obviously looms a solid threat. (1) SETTLEMOIR has been off his game recently but the inside post can change that in a hurry. Race 10 (2) RESPECTABLE DREAM drops back in for a tag, gets an improved post and meets a suspect field. (5) HERE WE GO AGAIN has been around seemingly forever and is still an effective 'Saturday night' player; threat. (8) STARSKY'S DREAM N is sharp and will be a decent price if he can overcome the eight hole. Race 11 (1) RANCOUSY lands a rare inside post tonight and also gets a driver upgrade to Holland; seems like this race goes through him. (4) SOME PLAYA added Lasix last week and was a respectable second; he may try leaving in a race without much early speed. (2) SIR MACHALOT was a big upset winner two back and should be close up throughout from this spot. Race 12 (5) SPORTSKEEPER returned locally three back and was completely flat at odds-on but he followed that up with two super efforts; Ruiz trainee will be the best price here of the contenders and should certainly be considered. (1) SOMESIZESOMESTYLE didn't fire last week but had missed some time; he's right back in the box and with the best post to boot. (3) THISJETSABOOKIN has been overachieving in the Open recently; he seems better suited for this level. [DRF HARNESS NEWSLETTER: Sign Up for the FREE DRF Harness Newsletter.
