Best Bet: ALLBEEF N NOBULL (5th) Spot Play: TEMPSTER HANOVER (1st) MEET STATS: 7 - 24 / $32.20 BEST BETS: 2 - 2 / $6.80 Race 1 (2) TEMPSTER HANOVER found his stride in a hurry over at The Meadowlands and dominated weaker fields; he returns to Yonkers for a barn that's been live so far in 2018. (4) MY MIND IS MADEUP doesn't seem to win nearly as often as he should but he should be a player at this level. (1) MCCLINCHIE N gets class relief, draws best and picks up Stratton driving for Vallee. Race 2 (5) UNDERTAKER may not be a true $40,000 claimer but he's looked good since shipping in and moving to the Allard barn and he meets a field with no standouts. (2) TWOMACHSONEMACH raced well last out versus similar but like many of these will the time off be a problem? (3) STARSKY'S DREAM N drops back to the level of his last two wins. Race 3 (3) LORD OF MISRULE returns from a successful stint at The Meadowlands and the DiDomenico trainee is usually quite competitive at this level. (1) DONAU returns locally with a good post and he hit the board in his last two versus similar. (4) MORE DRAGON may be a bit on the cheaper side but he's been sharp at The Big M. Race 4 (3) FOILED AGAIN isn't just a sentimental pick as he begins his 14-year-old campaign; champ has been sharp in his last couple of races and doesn't exactly meet a stellar field here. (1) ALL DOWN THE LINE successfully made the transition from Monday night conditioned horse to Saturday night competitor and he looks for two straight at this level. (2) BURNING SHORE bumped to this level last out, rode the rail and raced evenly in some traffic; he should land a share with the good draw. Race 5 (4) ALLBEEF N NOBULL raced well here with this type last season and the Burke trainee deserves top billing versus some questionable foes. (1) MACINTOSH N was bottomed out in his last two at The Meadowlands but the Vallee charge raced well at Yonkers in his last two. (5) QUICK ASA TRICK N bumps up off a wire-to-wire win but he's missed more time here than the others; use caution. Race 6 (1) GOKUDU HANOVER has been an absolute terror since moving to the DiDomenico barn, including a going-away win in the final Open of 2017; he deserves top billing from the best post in this abbreviated field. (4) TAKE IT BACK TERRY has worked his way up to the top level and the classy Burke trainee looks for four straight; he recently won off a three-week break as well. (3) KILLER MARTINI is coming off a solid season for the Bucci barn; he still has something to prove at the Open level but he seems sharp enough to compete. Race 7 (3) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN may have underachieved a bit in 2017 but still had a profitable year; no reason to think the Tritton trainee won't be ready to go off the holiday break. (5) STEELY MAN returns locally, now in the Burke barn, and he should fit well here. (4) BETTOREVER has raced well with better than these in the past. Race 8 (2) WINDSONG LEO has tended to be a bit erratic since arriving at Yonkers for Burke but he's had more good efforts than bad; he should be in line for a winning trip from this inside spot. (6) MR D'S DRAGON returns locally off a nice win at The Meadowlands and he's shown good speed here in the past. (1) BAD BOY BRAD A has been good out of town for DiDomenico but did break in his last Yonkers appearance; use caution. Race 9 (1) CHEVALS CLIVESDALE beat cheaper in two straight at odds-on when last at Yonkers and he does return up in class but with the best draw and he doesn't face any standouts. (5) MR RIGHT HANOVER shows a win with these four back and the versatile sort could be in line for a live trip from this spot. (2) BULLET BOB looks for three straight and will be close up but will need to save some energy for the late stages. Race 10 (2) BETTOR ROCK ON N has been on a serious roll for Lance Hudson; will be ready for action off a month? I have to assume the answer will be yes. (1) NEXT SUCCESS got used early and jammed up on the rail last week; don't hold that against him. (6) BEACH MEMORIES has been in raging form for DiDomenico but Stratton opts for the top choice. Race 11 (2) ALOTBETTOR N was a well-rated winner in his last Yonkers effort and followed that up with a win at The Big M; Team Bongiorno charge is too sharp to ignore. (8) SOTO is probably classiest of these but will need to fire hard from post eight and get a bit lucky. (1) SANTA FE BEACHBOY draws best for Banca off five weeks; I guess he should be included.
