Yonkers: Saturday 11/24 Analysis

Email

Meet Stats: 25 - 82 / $152.90

Best Bet: Sapphire City (6th)   Spot Play: Whatsittoyougrant (9th)

Race 1

(4) PONTIAC LUCK made a nice middle move in his Burke barn debut. Gelding gets some class relief tonight and should be primed for a big effort. (8) PEMBROKE NICK is stuck with an outside post but has early speed. The last time he was here, the Ford trainee was facing tougher. (7) HILARIOUS HALO gets a switch to Casie Coleman and George Brennan; obvious improvement possibilities.

Race 2

(3) SFUMATO doesn’t exactly face the toughest bunch tonight. With class and post relief, he should perk up. (4) HEMERS CARD SHARK raced okay from post 8 last time; using. (2) SAND SAVAGE has speed and reunites with Sears.

Race 3

(5) PACIFIC DESPERADO drops down again and figures to bring his A game. (4) SANSOME HANOVER tried this condition last week and only finished third, but this is an easier spot. (1) MCCEDES has speed and the cones; exotics must.

Race 4

(2) PANG SHUI makes his third start back from a 10-month absence. I would think he should be tighter now and he draws well to work out a trip. (3) TALKTOMECOURAGE N drops back down to the level of his last score. (6) JERRYS BROWN GOLD is at the right level and from a better post than last week.

Race 5

Looks like the speed is on the inside in here and (2) DROP RED finds a good spot this week. Expect him to sit first or second and get the job done for Sears. (1) MALICIOUS will be firing from the cones. While he has seven wins this year, he hasn’t gotten over the top lately. (5) WINTER RETREAT A hails from a capable barn. If they somehow mix it up, he could be there at a big price.

Race 6

Yonkers track record holder (4) SAPPHIRE CITY gets a break from the race office and draws inside this week. I’d be shocked if he didn’t bring a huge effort. (6) MAINLAND KEY N is so sharp now. (8) GREAT VINTAGE & (7) CASIMIR JITTERBUG are both capable but poorly drawn.

Race 7

(4) RIVER SHARK finally found his way to the winners circle last week. Classy veteran knows how to win and can string a couple together. (1) P H JACKPOT double-drops, has Brenna, the rail and hails from a live barn; all signs go. (5) FOUR STARZ KYLE adds Sears.

Race 8

(5) SILENT SWING drops a notch and finds the perfect spot to go down the road. (2) OR IS ALSO EXITING THE Opens. Sears should have him close to the action. (4) BETTOR DESIGN is clearly sharp; tougher spot. (6) REAL FLIGHT can’t be tossed.

Race 9

(7) WHATSITTOYOUGRANT is clearly sitting on a big mile. You don’t leave in 26 2/5 from post 8 unless you think your horse is live. He is stuck outside again but doesn’t exactly face a group of killers. (5) PANFERMIN FESTIVAL was super two back and got stuck with an outside post last time; dangerous. (1) SAND BENELLI should benefit from the rail draw.

Race 10

(1) STONEBRIDGE TONIC has speed and the pylons on his side. This is a very good spot for him. (4) ON THE BRINK should use his speed in this spot and get a nice piece. (7) OUR CULLENSCROWN N made a boat load of money Down Under but has a long road ahead from this post. (8) VLOS gets class relief and has enough early zip to overcome the post.

Race 11

I can see going a few ways in here. I’ll give the narrow edge to (1) VOICE OF TRUTH because he drew the rail and seems likely to work out the best trip. (4) JACKED UP usually fires his best shot at this level from good posts. (2) TIDEWATER TEDDY drops a notch and has Brennan. (7) HERE WE GO AGAIN is hard to toss.

Race 12

(1) SOMETHING FOR DOC should be headed down the road in this spot. Hopefully he lasts. (7) ALLAMERICAN PEWTER is certainly capable of winning if Sears can work out a reasonable trip. (6) AUSSIE REACTOR A was just okay in his first start on Lasix. Sometimes it takes a race or two before the medication kicks in.
