Email

MEET STATS: 306 - 857 / $1710.80     BEST BETS: 42 - 68 / $139.90

Best Bet: ALL BETS OFF (4th)

Spot Play: SHOOBEE’S PLACE (10th)

Race 1

(4) STATESMAN N woke up with an improved effort last week where he kept up well in a quick back half; he lands a favorable enough draw and can take this with a trip. (5) HILLBILLY HANOVER had no chance chasing on the rim last out into a rated pace; prior efforts were good. (7) CHINA GRILL will be off the pace tonight and he could close for a share at a price.

Race 2

(7) EXPRESSIVE ACTION looked good in his career debut and he can certainly build off that effort. (5) GENERAL BILL BROWN hails from good connections and is the most accomplished in here. (1) CONSUMER RATE should be close up if he remains trotting.

Race 3

(2) HOW BOUT CASH hails from the now-recognized Ducharme barn. Big threat if she minds her manners. (3) FASHIONABLEAPPLE picks up Morrill and will likely be forwardly placed. (1) RUBY RUBY WHO seems to have regressed after a promising start to her career; the rail spot can be tricky for these young trotters, however.

Race 4

(3) ALL BETS OFF was super in defeat in his debut for Burke, missing a nose to He's Watching; no way he loses in this spot. (4)  THEREISAPACEFORUS was second best in the Sheppard and he looks next best here. (5) GOLDIN PARACHUTE was also a Sheppard participant and he gets Morrill tonight.

Race 5

(3) RAIN CLOUD HANOVER has looked good since arriving from Canada and it appears likely she'll go wire-to-wire from this spot. (6) JADED DREAM makes her third start for Burke but is stuck outside; the ability seems there. (5) WONDERING HEART is still a maiden but she's been a decent earner.

Race 6

(2) FIFTY SHADES has a solid local resume and the filly is clearly the one to beat here. (7) BOSTONZ CREDIT was a solid winner two back with MacDonald in the bike; poor post helps her price. (5) KINDA CRAZY LINDY will be a speed threat with Brennan driving.

Race 7

(5) FREETIME has been shut out of the win column this year but she hasn't raced badly in recent efforts; DiDomenico had an upset winner last week in the NYSS finals. (4) GIVE ME AN AMEN has Brennan driving for Toscano; worth a look from this midpack post. (1) BRUSSELS HANOVER should be good for a share from this inside spot.

Race 8

(4) PINE CREDIT is far and away the most accomplished trotting colt in here; Marcus Miller will find a way to get the job done. (2) BLACKWOLF RUN has speed, an inside post and he stays flat. (3) EXPLOSIVE ACTION is another in the line of Grasso's `action' trotters who have ability and make money.

Race 9

(3) HAIL THE TAXI hasn't matched his freshman campaign, where he banked over 200K but he does have stakes victories this season and he will have to be caught from this spot. (2) TRACK MASTER D loses Bartlett to the top choice but I've always been a fan of this colt. (4) COMICBOOK HERO's last few efforts should make him competitive with these.

Race 10

(5) SHOOBEE'S PLACE returns to Brennan and gets much-needed class relief; wakes up. (3) ROLLWITHITHARRY has been solid since joining the DiDomenico barn. (1) ROCK TO GLORY was a winner from a similar spot three back.

Race 11

(3) PAN FROM NANTUCKET chased willingly from the pocket versus Code Word last out; a repeat of that effort should make him tough in here. (8) ALL SPEED HANOVER has some work to do from this spot but the talent is there. (4) LONEWOLF CURRIER 3-year-old is really tough to play based on his current form.

Race 12

(3) DRUMFIRE A has been solid in his last three local appearances and he's got as good a shot as any in here. (6) HOLDINGALLTHECARDS failed last out but he's a proven commodity at this level. (2) LETTUCEROCKU A should be close up throughout.

Race 13

(2) VERDAD faltered on the front end last week; another chance. (4) BETTOR'S EDGE has had some trouble transitioning to the aged ranks for Toscano but he's got plenty of ability. (3) NOB HILL HIGH loses Stratton tonight and he hasn't been at his best recently but he still merits a look for the bottom of the ticket.
