Yonkers: Saturday 10/10 Analysis

Race 2 - $75,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool ($25,000 added)

MEET STATS: 305 - 927 / $1688.30  BEST BETS: 44 - 74 / $151.00

Best Bet: MCERLEAN (8th)

Spot Play: MELADY’S MONET (3rd)

Race 1

(2) CLASSIESISTAR N returns locally with a good post and was a winner here two back versus lesser; Tritton barn has to be respected. (3) FRANKIES DRAGON is the class here but he hasn't been at his best. (1) STONE TREE is up in class off two solid efforts.

Race 2

(4) STOMPIN TOM CREEK drops out of claimers, gets post relief and Brennan in the bike; worth a look in this wide-open affair. (1) SIR ZIGGY'S Z TAM is back inside and always has to be considered. (5) EMPEROR MONTANA N faces tougher but has been better since moving to the Garcia-Herrera barn.

Race 3

(8) MELADY'S MONET has post eight in a 12 horse affair, but I don't think it's an awful assignment for this classy trotter. Bartlett will have nose on gate and can steer clear of traffic while heading to the front. (9) ZOOMING was nailed by the top choice last week and the start prior he wore down a very classy rival. (7) LUMINOSITY can be excused for tiring last out as he was very hard used. Brennan will have the Burke trainee on the move again.

Race 4 – International Trot

I'm not going to pretend I can handicap this $1 million revival of the International Trot with any accuracy. This will be a hotly contested and exciting affair from start to finish, and there's a ton of different ways to approach it when wagering. I will consider (4) TIMOKO, who arrives off three months, but I would assume he'll be fit and ready. The earner of over $3.7 million has the accomplished Bjorn Goop in the bike and post four is a good starting spot. (1) CREATINE returns to the States and the U.S. owned/bred trotter lands the inside post with Johnny Takter driving for trainer Jimmy. (5) BEE A MAGICIAN needs no introduction, but will she be overbet based on reputation and familiarity? (10) OASIS BI may be on the move early to get away from second-tier traffic and these European imports can live on the rim all day.

Race 5

(9) BOUND FOR FAME returns facing lesser and only needs to escape early traffic to have a big chance. (6) DEWYCOLORINTHELINE clearly fits with these but has missed a few weeks. (8) THERAPUTIC is dropping for live connections but may have to generate some early speed from this spot.

Race 6

(1) JESSE'S STORY has been a live commodity in all recent at this level and should be considered the one to beat. (10) I'M FABULOUS is a classy veteran who's having a nice season; Brennan drives. (4) KASCARA ROSA lacks the class of others but did have a nice win versus lesser two back; good starting spot.

Race 7

(1) BIG N BAD wired these from post eight last week at a big price and somehow ends up with the rail tonight; why not again? (7) SOMEWHERE IN L A couldn't get involved last out; he may be firing tonight. (5) CROMBIE A gets Sears back in the bike.

Race 8

(4) MCERLEAN gets post relief in his second start at this reduced level and he should be able to take care of business versus these. (2) BACKUP A draws inside and should be close up throughout. (6) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE is a proven money-maker and he'll be coming late.

Race 9

(3) KIWI IDEAL N draws another good post and he's always a major player when inside; import looks for two straight. (5) TYE SEELSTER was totally flat last week after missing time due to sickness; he should be tighter tonight, (1) ONE THROUGH TEN has controlling speed and the rail but stamina has been an issue recently.

Race 10

(7) IDEAL COWBOY has shown a new dimension by closing crisply from off the pace in his last three; Bamond trainee appears sharpest here. (4) FORTY FIVE RED showed speed as expected last week but tired; another chance to be forwardly placed from this spot. (3) TWIN B TENACIOUS is capable on his best day and will be a good price; use for value underneath.

Race 11

(8) FORT VALLEY AS drops from the Open and has won his last two starts at this level. Post eight presents a problem but he's got the early speed to overcome; watch the board. (1) SUMMER INDIAN was sharp in defeat versus lesser upon arrival for Burke; speed threat from the inside. (2) LORENZO DREAM is always competitive but hasn't won in some time.

Race 12

(8) E Z NOAH almost broke leaving, was used hard to the front, set a quick clip and was just nailed last out; I'll stick with him despite another outside draw. (1) MACHS BEACH BOY moves from the eight hole back to the rail; obvious contender. (3) TWIN B HOLLISTER has almost made back his 50K claiming price purchase by Banca and he looks for 4 of 6 since the barn change.

Race 13

(3) IN COMMANDO hiked to this level last week and was caught uncovered into a rated pace; he seems capable here in a race with no standouts. (5) SNAP TO IT A has been reasonably sharp for Bamond; Bartlett's back driving. (2)  BULLET BOB looks for four straight but faces tougher.
