Yonkers: Monday 4/29 Analysis

MEET STATS: 121 - 323 / $653.50    BEST BETS: 18 - 26 / $59.20

Best Bet: ROOKIE MISTAKE (2nd)

Spot Play: THE PEARL (4th)

Race 1

(8) FLIRTY FILLY ships north from Delaware for a barn that's had some success here recently; the eight hole should only help her price. (4) BAD FEELING should be able to flash some gate speed from this spot. (2) TIMESWEETENEDHONEY moves back inside and appears capable of landing a share.

Race 2

(3) ROOKIE MISTAKE is one of three big dropdowns in this race. I'll give him the nod based on his post advantage. (5) RULE BY STRENGTH and (4) PLAYA TULUM should both be competitive in here but they both lack the winning habit.

Race 3

(1) MY TALLIA IDEAL stormed off cover to score at a nice price in her third career start; filly may have real potential. (4) JK CHEERLEADER was aggressively handled last out and probably had no excuse; contender here. (2) JESSE'S LADY flattened from the pocket as my choice last week; will she be better tonight?

Race 4

(7) THE PEARL got going way too late last week in his debut for new connections; lets see if Sears can coax some early speed out of the gelding. (3) BINGO QUEEN has some ability, needs to stay flat. (1) THE KEPTMAN did show improvement last out and has speed with the best post.

Race 5

(5) SPELL TO CAST raced very willingly to be second to a tough one; filly makes her third start off the bench and she should only get better. (4) BRUSSELS HANOVER caved in as the odds-on choice in her return; any improvement from that effort makes her a top contender here. (6) REGIL ELEKTRA ships in and has plenty of speed.

Race 6

(3) ON THE BRINK draws better in a field full of question marks and he's got the early speed to be perfectly positioned here. (5) ELECTRIC SHOOTER gets class relief and he's better than he's been showing. (1) ALIVEANDWELL A is usually competitive from inside posts.

Race 7

(3) SHOW ME UP has been facing much better recently and the Mark Ford trainee is running out of excuses. (2) TIDEWATER TOMAHAWK bumps up off a confidence-boosting victory. (1) SFUMATO was aggressively handled last week and faltered; veteran may be best of the rest from the inside spot.

Race 8

(3) MAYTIME TERROR returns locally after facing some tough ones out of town; Garcia-Herrera trainee faces some legit competition inside of him but the price may be right to take a shot. (2) SMOKEALITTLESMOKE has stakes experience and is perfect thus far in his brief 2013 season. (1) ER ROOM looks for three straight and we probably know what the strategy will be from this spot.

Race 9

(3) CASHENDASH HANOVER drops in class and has a good post in a highly competitive field; Brennan drives. (2) OK BRAVEHEART and (1) MYSTICAL VALENTINE both remain at the same level in their debut for new connections and either is capable given a live trip.

Race 10

Anyone who saw (2) WE THE PEOPLE's ridiculous parked-out effort would have to believe that he should jog from this spot. (3) MILITARY STRATCOM returns locally after a stint out west and he's had plenty of success here. This barn had a longshot winner this past Friday with a trotter following this same pattern. (1) BESTNOTLIE HANOVER enters another new barn and he draws the rail; contender.

Race 11

(3) DIABLO SEELSTER didn't really fire in his debut for the Buter barn; he drops tonight and is capable of better. (1) DUTCH RICHMAN has speed, the rail and Sears driving. (7) MYSTERIOUS MOMENT is not a prolific winner but I could see Lachance hitting the ticket tonight.

Race 12

(5) MAINLAND KEY N has been facing tons better recently with little success; he tumbles in class tonight and gets the call. (4) WAYNE THE LEFTY has failed in his two cracks at this reduced level; who knows what we'll get tonight. (1) GRAB YOUR KEYS hasn't been the same since returning this season.
