Yonkers: Monday 2/12 Analysis

Spot Play: WESTERN PHIL (3rd)

MEET STATS: 53 - 155 / $315.10

BEST BETS: 8 - 14 / $29.10

Race 1

(6) PARKAVENUEJULIEANN put in a nice career debut despite tiring late under pressure and the filly seems capable of building off that effort. (1) FALL DIVA just missed last week and figures to be right there at the wire again. (3) LUSTY DELIGHT gets some post relief.

Race 2

(3) GABE THE BEAR DEAN was a major disappointment last year but the Schnittker trainee qualified effectively and could be ready right off the bench. (6) SEXY P V is razor sharp but seems a bit hard to steer; use caution. (1) ARUBA VACATION drops in class, draws best and will be in line for a live trip.

Race 3

(1) WESTERN PHIL came up big last week in defeat, his first start after moving to the Allard barn; a similar effort can take this. (4) ROCK ON LINE invades from Canada for the sharp Andrew Harris barn and picks up Bartlett. (6) ROCK N ROLL RUDY closed well after the fact last week and may do the same tonight.

Race 4

(2) HEIGHTENED SCRUTINY was a winner two back at this level from an inside post for a hot barn. (1) BRANDOS MUSCLE MAN returns to Yonkers, draws best and the veteran will likely be heading down the road. (3) ITZAZIAM took money in his local return and was looming large until he broke; consider.

Race 5

(1) CHEYENE REIJANE gets much-needed post relief tonight and is always right there when drawn well. (4) NIALL HANOVER has been racing just evenly of late but this looks like a better spot. (3) OFFDAHOOK BLUECHIP picks up Bartlett and may be heading to the front.

Race 6

(6) LATE MAIL N is a perfect two-for-two since invading for the Croghan barn and I'll stay on board despite facing some decent ones inside of him. (3) ROCK N BLUE was overbet and aggressively handled last week before folding; he'll be a better price tonight. (2) POINT SOMEWHERELSE disappointed in his seasonal debut but the Jeff Gregory trainee appears capable of better.

Race 7

(2) FEEL THE DARKSIDE was sharp two back, then got rebuffed last week trying to move into a quick back half; hard to say what kind of trip she'll get from this spot but I'll give her another chance. (5) D GS ELSA has raced pretty well since arriving from Canada. (3) GUSSY'S DRAGON failed at The Big M recently but raced well in prior starts up at Saratoga.

Race 8

(2) TOUCHMATIC is lightly raced but seems to have talent; mare should be tighter off last week's speed effort at The Meadowlands. (1) FLYME TO THE MOON should be working out a good trip from this spot but will need to show more late. (4) PULL THE SHADE moves in a couple of spots and picks up Stratton.

Race 9

(4) GIVEMEYOURHEART has been racing very well with tougher, more seasoned foes and this looks like a perfectly classified spot to do serious damage. (2) JAZZY IMAGE will be near the front from this spot which makes her a clear threat. (3) DUDESALADY raced well last week with speed at both ends.

Race 10

(4) TWIN B SPEED DIAL was collared by a sharp rival last week and he faces another good one in (2) GERARD N MO but I'll give the DiDomenico trainee another chance. The latter has been right there in all six Yonkers starts. (1) SHOREVIEW moves all the way inside and should work out a good trip.

Race 11

(5) STEUBEN JOBEE seems a bit erratic from time to time but we've seen good efforts from him in the past and the price should be right in this wide-open event. (1) HEADLIGHTS ON raced evenly last week and now draws best. (4) OBSCENE BLUE CHIP has missed time off a sick scratch but the last time that happened he came out and won at 85/1.

Race 12

(1) STIRLING ESCORT shook free with solid late pace last week and he draws well again in another competitive event, where it looks like they are all in with a chance. (5) MYIDEALSON N steps up with good efforts from time to time and is always a big price. (3) BETTOR'S WESTERN has disappointed in his last two; use caution with the morning-line favorite.
