Lispatty picked up her first win of the season in Friday night's Blue Chip Matchmaker Series action

Lispatty and Medusa posted upset victories in the two $40,000 splits of the fourth round of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series for pacing mares that were held on Friday night at Yonkers Raceway.

In the first division the venerable millionaire Krispy Apple (Brett Miller) took the group of eight through panels of 27 1/5, 57 1/5, and 1:25 2/5, but in the stretch she gave way, with 5-1 shot Lispatty (Jason Bartlett) brushing by on the far outside from second-over on her way to a three-quarter length victory in 1:55.  Divas Image (Joe Bongiorno) was in tight between horses halfway down the stretch and had to settle for second, with Wrangler Magic (Dan Dube) third after a pocket trip.

Gilbert Garcia-Herrera trains Lispatty, a 4-year-old McArdle mare, for owner Gilbert Garcia-Owen.  This was her 11th career victory, and she has now earned $253,245.  She paid $13.80 to win.

9-2 third choice Medusa (Matt Kakaley) led all the way in the other section, posting fractions of 28 1/5, 57 3/5, and 1:25 1/5 en route to a 1:53 3/5 score.  Mackenzie A (Jordan Stratton) chased from first-over in the final quarter but had to settle for second, a length and a half in arrears, and 3-5 favorite Mach It A Par (Bartlett) was third after tracking Mackenzie A's bid.

The victorious 6-year-old Bettor's Delight mare is trained by Andrew Federico Jr. for owners Randy Bendis and Thomas Pollack.  Medusa, now a 28-time winner in her life, has earned $474,612 and returned $11.20 to her backers for the victory.
