Agent Q and Dave Miller went virtually wire-to-wire to capture the first of two $20,000 eliminations for the Lismore at Yonkers on Saturday night.

The Western Terror-sired filly cruised through very slow fractions of 28 4/5, 59 1/5 and 1:27 4/5 before kicking home in 27 2/5 and wrapping up her mile in-hand in 1:55 1/5. Tequila Monday, the even-money favorite, came off second-over cover to finish a clear second, with Caviart Ally holding third after a first-over grind. Ashlees Spitfire cleared inside for the final berth.

Agent Q, trained by Aaron Lambert, is now unbeaten in two starts in 2017 and has never been worse than second in a dozen lifetime starts.

The second Lismore elimination looked eerily similar to the first as Big City Betty and driver Jim Marohn Jr. left authoritatively from the rail and seated Gotthisone Hanover in short order. Ain't Three OK, the 1-5 public choice, made a miscue while trying to negotiate the first turn but would catch the field at the rear by the quarter.

Big City Betty, a daughter of Bettor's Delight, cruised through fractions of 58 1/5, and 1:27 before kicking into high gear and drawing off in a 1:55 2/5 mile. Gotthisone Hanover held the place safely, with Warrawee Sunshine saving as much ground as possible in third. Caviart Cherie rounded out the top four that return for the May 27 $140,770 finale.

Steve Salerno trains Big City Betty, now a winner in two of her three sophomore starts.
