X Y Jet back with Navarro

X Y Jet trains in Dubai a few days before running second there in the Dubai Golden Shaheen on March 26.

X Y Jet, who had a chip in his knee discovered after his second-place finish in the Dubai Golden Shaheen in March, returned to trainer Jorge Navarro's barn Monday at Monmouth Park with the goal to get him to compete in the Breeders' Cup Sprint.

Owned by Rockingham Ranch and Gelfenstein Farm, X Y Jet had been recovering at Taylor Made Farm.

"He put on 125 pounds - he looks amazing, the best I've ever seen him," said Navarro. "Taylor Made Farm did an excellent job with him. He's tack-walking now, will probably start to shedrow in a couple of weeks, and then he'll jog for another month before he starts serious training. I spoke to both owners and said let's not stress about the Breeders' Cup, let's think about the horse, and if we make it, we make it."

X Y Jet had won five straight races before the trip to Dubai, including the Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint in February and the Grade 3 Mr. Prospector at Gulfstream in December.

Navarro sent out Private Zone to finish second behind Runhappy in the 2015 Breeders' Cup Sprint.
