Worldly now 2-for-2 in U.S.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Worldly won his first stakes and remained unbeaten in the United States, with a decisive late kick in Saturday's Grade 3 Will Rogers Stakes at Hollywood Park.

Ridden by Victor Espinoza, Worldly ($5.20) ran a mile on turf in 1:35.19, holding off a late threat from Silent Soul to win by a half-length in the field of six 3-year-olds. Mayor Bozarth finished third, a nose behind Silent Soul.

Hurry Home Warren took the early lead, setting fractions of 23.59 and 47.32 seconds before fading through the stretch. He eventually finished fourth.

Worldly races for Christopher Wright and is trained by Ben Cecil. Bred in England, Worldly had one victory in three starts in that country before beginning the U.S. portion of his career with a win in an allowance race at Santa Anita in April.

The Will Rogers Stakes was his second start in this country.
